It was more than a job that drew Clem Hamilton to Lake County nine years ago.
The 53-year wind instrumentalist, who had been working in Illinois, decided to check out one of the festival shows. He was sold.
He took the job and an opening in Lakeland Civic Jazz Orchestra’s saxophone section the following year.
“I thought, if this was the local amateur music scene, that made it a very attractive place to live and work,” said Hamilton, who recently left Holden to pursue research.
