Warner Books for students
The Warner Men’s Club donated $400 to MainStreet Warner, Inc. to go toward this year’s purchase of books for the MainStreet Warner Literacy Project. Jim Arnosky, author and illustrator of books on natural history and New England wildlife, will visit the students at Simonds Elementary School in May. In a combined annual effort of the Simonds PTO, MainStreet BookEnds and MainStreet Warner, each student receives an autographed copy of one of the visiting author’s books, after a presentation with each of the grades.
Concord Honor your veteran
This Memorial Day you can honor your favorite veterans, past and present, by making a $10 donation to Camp Resilience’s Honors Booklet. This booklet will be available at the May 27 Tribute Concert by Jay Gates to be held at Interlakes High School, sponsored by our friends of the We Care Committee of Temple B’nai Israel. All the proceeds from the concert ticket sales and Honors Booklet subscriptions will go to support the Lakes Region non-profit Camp Resilience. This group of volunteers provides recreational, life skills and emotional support for veterans. Visit prli.us and click on the box “May 27 Tribute Concert to Honor Veterans.” The Honors Booklet can also accommodate a limited number of business support messages for veterans. If your business would like to purchase an ad email Mordonsan@aol.com with the subject: Honors Booklet Ad.
