Music, shopping and theater: Three fun things to check out this weekend

The city trees are lit and the kids are ready to wrap up school for the holiday break. Despite what the recent weather has indicated, it’s definitely Christmastime in the city.

There’s still plenty of time before the family comes home for the holidays to get out and take in the events on the town. Be sure to check out these three holiday-themed events taking place in the Hometown Life coverage area this weekend.

While Santa arrived late last month, there’s still plenty to do in Plymouth to celebrate this season. That includes a shopping experience downtown.

Christmas in Plymouth returns 5-9 p.m. Thursday, an event that will feature shopping  with carriage rides, wagon rides and caroling. Special dining offers, live street music and plenty of photo opportunities to spruce up your Instagram account will be available. A community sing-along will take place at 8:30 p.m.

Carriage tickets are available at Sun and Snow, 388 S. Main, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Inspire Theatre will perform “The Ultimate Christmas Show,” running each weekend until Dec. 17. Shows take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Westland Center for the Arts, 33455 Warren.
