The best shows, movies and tunes to stave off winter boredom

Elton John: I’m Still Standing: A Grammy Salute

The Grammys take place at Madison Square Garden on Jan. 28. On Jan. 30, stars will gather at the Garden again to pay tribute to Elton John at this special show (to be broadcast on CBS later in the year). Kesha, Miley Cyrus, John Legend and others will cover John’s hits, before the man himself gets behind the piano to show them how it’s really done.

“American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace”

This sensational exploration of what forces drove preppy parasite Andrew Cunanan to shoot fashion designer Gianni Versace at point-blank range in front of his Miami villa on July 15, 1997 stars Edgar Ramirez as Versace and Darren Criss as Cunanan. The first of nine episodes premieres on Jan. 17.

Justin Timberlake — “Man of the Woods”

The ex-*NSYNC star has been teasing his fifth studio album as a return to his Southern roots, and even released a trailer for “Man of the Woods” that featured him rocking a rugged look and communing with nature. But with fans nervously expecting Justin to go country, his first single “Filthy” (released last week) turned out to be a slick slice of electro-RB. So is the Feb. 2 album going to be more “SexyBack” or more hairy back? We’ll have to wait to find out.

“Altered Carbon”

As the latest buzzed-about futuristic sci-fi show, this will be the 2018 Netflix version of “Westworld.” Dropping Feb. 2, it’s based on the popular 2002 book of the same title and stars Joel Kinnaman (“House of Cards”). The plotline: Humans can transplant their minds from body to body. The show’s pilot is directed by Emmy-winning “Game of Thrones” director Miguel Sapochnik, the man behind the HBO giant’s epic battles.
