Deadline held it’s third-annual The Contenders Emmys at the DGA Theater in West Hollywood on Sunday. The live, day-long event toasted the beginning of the Emmy awards season by giving major networks and studios a special platform to present and share details of their most promising prospects in the year ahead with members of the TV Academy, the Hollywood Foreign Press and voters from the PGA, WGA, DGA and SAG-AFTRA.

Featuring an assortment of talent ranging from actors, writers, directors and other creatives representing the year’s most anticipated and seemingly award-worthy shows, the event hosted presentations throughout the day from a who’s who of small screen heavies, including Hulu, HBO, Warner Bros. Television Group, Netflix, FX, Starz, Comedy Central and numerous others.

Here are the quotes that stood out most from a wall-to-wall day of hype and discussion from the entertainment capital of the world:

Sharon Stone on HBO’s Mosaic, a murder mystery from director Steven Soderbergh, as the ideal project for her Hollywood return:

“[It’s] a great role and I feel very blessed because I took time out from my career, and to come back to this type of intriguing work… It’s really a dream come true for me… [Soderbergh] is one of the most remarkable and forward-thinking directors.”

Broad City co-star Abbi Jacobson on recently announcing the show’s end after its upcoming fifth-season:

“It feels very right. This is [a show] about being in your 20s, and believe it or not, we’re not anymore. I know it’s hard, but it feels like this thing can’t go on
