WWE Superstars John Cena and Nikki Bella have called off their engagement, per Us Weekly (h/t Wrestling Inc), thereby ending a relationship that dates back to 2012.

Nikki Bella made the break-up official via Twitter, noting that both her and Cena “continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another.”

Cena proposed to Nikki Bella in one of the more memorable moments of an otherwise forgettable WrestleMania 33 in 2017. All told, their mixed tag team match, proposal and video exclusives of their WrestleMania moment amassed over 24 million views on WWE’s YouTube channel.

Cena and Nikki Bella were well on their way to becoming one of WWE’s premier power couples. After forging an empire that included hit reality shows Total Divas, Total Bellas and the Bella’s YouTube channel—where Cena was prominently featured as host of the show Auto Geeks in addition to other roles—a marriage seemed to be the logical next step toward merging both their love and influence.

WWE touted the success of Total Bellas in its Q3 2017 earnings report, crediting the show having an impact on television revenues, which increased 15% to $64.7 million compared to $56.3 million in the prior quarter. WWE has used this model for its forthcoming series Miz  Mrs., starring married WWE couple and new parents The Miz and Maryse, which will air on the USA Network later this year.

To date, the Bella’s YouTube channel over 1.3 million subscribers with 339,177 views per video. Cena’s aforementioned Auto Geek series has averaged 579,808 viewers in 27 episodes.

Total Bellas is set to air its third season on May 20. And while a marriage special could have potentially been the series’ highest-rated episode to date, the possible airing of any behind-the-scenes drama that led to Cena
