Music Off Broadway

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – Bob Potts of the Rotary Club of Bangor stopped by TV5 to talk about their upcoming annual fundraising show, Music Off Broadway. For the first time, it will be held at Gracie Theatre on the campus of Husson University.

Dates and times for this year’s performances are Thursday and Friday, June 14 15 at 7 PM and Saturday, June 16 at 5 PM.

The show this year – Music Off Broadway And Beyond – will feature a fun and entertaining mix of both Broadway songs and popular music. Seven of this year’s songs were selected through social media voting and will be revealed at the shows; only the performers know which songs won the popular vote and will be performed at Music Off Broadway.

Kicking off Act II this year will be a special performance by students from the Cooperative Community Arts Program. Thirty young people from age 6 through 17 will perform songs from the musicals Hamilton, Moana, Bring It On and In The Heights as part of their summer show choir camp.

“Every year, people come to this amazing show and are blown away by the level of talent shared by everyday ordinary citizens,” said Bev Uhlenhake, President of Bangor Rotary Club. “This is our largest annual fundraiser and 100 percent of the profits will benefit local charities serving youth and the elderly. We really hope people will take a few hours from their day and enjoy this great show while supporting several worthy causes at the same time.”
