Watch more than 30 movies by moonlight this summer

Summer calls for taking your activities outside as much as possible, and a movie by moonlight is a prime example. Six institutions around Boston will offer free movies throughout the summer months — all free of charge. Peruse the list below.

Boston Harbor Hotel Movies by Moonlight
As part of the hotel’s Summer in the City Entertainment Series, these 12 films will be screened starting at dusk. Guests can also enjoy al fresco dining at the waterfront setting at Rowes Wharf Sea Grille or The Harborwalk Terrace.

Friday, June 22: “It Happened One Night”
Friday, June 29: “Grease”
Friday, July 6: “Field of Dreams”
Friday, July 13: “The Lion King”
Friday, July 20: “Splash”
Friday, July 27: “Wizard of Oz”
Friday, Aug 3: “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”

Friday, Aug 10: “The Karate Kid”
Friday, Aug 17: “Hook”
Friday, Aug. 24: “Dr. No”
Friday, Aug. 31: “Out of Africa”

MFA Sunset Cinema
Between June 20 and Sept. 13, the Museum of Fine Arts will host free monthly movies on its Huntington Avenue lawn. The movies will start around sunset, and live music, art making, and lawn games will kick off 90 minutes beforehand. Beer, wine, and snacks will be available for purchase.
Wednesday, June 20, 7 p.m.: “Black Panther”
Thursday, July 12, 7 p.m.: “Faces Places (Visages Villages)”
Thursday, Aug 9, 6:30 p.m.: “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind”
Thursday, Sept. 13, 6 p.m.: “The Wicker Man”

Free Friday Flicks at the Hatch Shell
Take a lawn chair or blanket to the Esplanade for the 33rd season of this summer movie series. Free games and giveaways by WBZ
