Capitals vs Hurricanes Game 3 start time, live stream, television schedule

The Washington Capitals begin their title defense in the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs on Thursday when they host the Carolina Hurricanes. Here’s how to watch.

On Monday, April 15, the Stanley Cup Playoffs will be heading to Carolina for the first time since 2009. Starting at 7:00 p.m. EST, the Washington Capitals will visit the Carolina Hurricanes at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina. This game can be viewed on CNBC nationally in the United States. In Canada, you can turn to Sportsnet and TVAS. Locally, it will be on NBC Washington and Fox Sports Carolina.

Currently, Washington has a 2-0 series lead after taking advantage of their home-ice advantage. Game 1 was a close 3-2 affair while Game 2 saw Brooks Orpik emerge as the overtime hero. The Caps have gotten off to a strong start in each game so far.

Washington is led by Alex Ovechkin, who has at least one point in each of the two games in this series. Nicklas Backstrom has three goals, including two in Game 1. John Carlson has three assists so far. Braden Holtby has picked up both wins in net.

The Caps did a great job winning on the road during their Stanley Cup run last season. Getting a win in Game 3 would go a huge way to helping them win back-to-back titles.

On the other side of the ice, the Hurricanes are in desperation mode after losing the first two games in the series. They’ll be returning home, though, where they have been very good this season. The Canes are still looking for their first win against the Capitals this season, as they lost all four of their regular season games against them.
