SeaWorld Entertainment CEO Resigns After Seven Months

said Monday that Chief Executive

Gustavo Antorcha

is leaving the company, seven months after taking the helm.

The amusement park chain named

Marc Swanson,

its current chief financial officer, as its interim CEO, while

Elizabeth Castro Gulacsy,

the company’s chief accounting officer, will become interim CFO.

Attempts to reach Mr. Antorcha weren’t immediately successful, but in prepared remarks he said, “While I may have a difference of approach, I continue to believe in SeaWorld’s strategy, mission, team and prospects.”

SeaWorld said in February that it had hired Mr. Antorcha, the former chief operating officer of


Cruise Lines, a unit of Carnival Corp.

SeaWorld has dealt with a spate of leadership changes in the past few years as it works to move past the fallout the documentary “Blackfish” had on its business.
