Shawndell Marks and other Madison-area musicians will take part in “Patsy Cline Valentine,” a seated event Thursday night at the High Noon Saloon.

The Valentine’s weekend offerings in Madison include a tribute by local musicians to Patsy Cline and her contemporaries at the High Noon Saloon; swing dancing in the Wisconsin Union Theater’s Great Hall; a Shakespearian montage; and the Kanopy Dance Co.’s premiere of “Love is Love.”

Also this weekend: The Midwinter Midwest Gypsy Swing Fest, “The Office! A Parody Musical,” a concert by indie-rock collaborators Calexico and Iron Wine and more.


“Patsy Cline Valentine,” High Noon Saloon
Thursday, Feb. 13, 7 p.m.
Several of Madison’s best musicians come together for “Patsy Cline Valentine,” a seated show at the High Noon Saloon. The heart-rending songs of Cline, Hank Williams, Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash will be on the set list for local musicians Shawndell Marks, Frank Busch and members of The Big Payback and the Driveway Thriftdwellers.

Dustin Lynch, The Sylvee

Thursday, Feb. 13, 8 p.m.
Coming off the January release of his fourth full-length album “Tullahoma,” country chart topper Dustin Lynch boot stomps at The Sylvee. Travis Denning, who has had a couple hit singles himself, opens.

Midwinter Midwest Gypsy Swing Fest, The Brink Lounge
Friday-Saturday, Feb. 14-15, 7 p.m.
Madison’s own Gypsy swing jazz band Harmonious Wail once again emcees the two-day Midwinter Midwest Gypsy Swing Fest at The Brink Lounge. Expect performances by Harmonious Wail as well as Debi Botos from Toronto, Alfonso Ponticelli and Swing Gitan from Chicago and the Gonzalo Bergara Trio from Argentina/Los Angeles.
