6 arrests over 3 weeks for lewdness, drugs outside adult entertainment store

A Lakewood man was the latest in a string of six arrests over the last three weeks for lewdness and drugs near an adult entertainment store in Brick, police said Saturday.

Omar Aragon Mendoza, 42, of Lakewood, was arrested and charged with lewdness and drug possession after allegedly exposing himself in the parking lot of an adult entertainment store this week, Brick Police Chief James Riccio said.

The department’s Street Crimes Unit were watching the The Pleasure Zone Wednesday around 9:15 p.m. when Mendoza allegedly got out of the car with his genitals exposed.

Police said he then went to another occupied car and started urinating, which is when officers approached. Riccio said his officers saw Mendoza try to get rid of cocaine when they approached.

“We’re going to keep aggressively monitoring the situation over there and if people come into town and do that, they’re going to get arrested,” Riccio said.

Mendoza was arrested and released on a summons.

Police have spoken to the owners of the store in the 200 block of Chambersbridge Road. The owners have agreed to put some extra lighting in the parking lot, Ricco said.
