“The Invisible Man,” in theaters everywhere

Cecilia Kass escapes her abusive relationship and disappears into hiding with help from her sister, their childhood friend and his teenage daughter. But when her violent ex commits suicide and leaves her a large sum from his fortune, Cecilia suspects his death is a hoax and her sanity begins to unravel as she tries to prove she is being haunted by someone nobody can see. “Burden,” in select theaters

A museum celebrating the Ku Klux Klan opens in a small South Carolina town and a local pastor is determined to prevent racial tensions from escalating, but his congregation is shocked to discover that that plan includes sheltering a Klansman with a troubled past. In the face of threats to himself and his family, the reverend pursues a path to peace to heal his community. Cast includes Forest Whitaker, Garrett Hedlund, Andrea Riseborough and Usher Raymond. “All the Bright Places,” streaming on Netflix

Based on the bestselling novel by Jennifer Niven, the story follows Violet Markey and Theodore Finch, who meet and change each other’s lives forever as they struggle with the emotional and physical scars of their pasts.
