KTL staff says keep an eye out for new books available

CLINTON — Kirkland Town Library, 55 1/2 College St., is currently closed but asks patrons to continue to check the library website for updates on services.

“Even though we are closed, we are still receiving new books,” said Laura Stoll, assistant to the director.  “Check our website for a list of new releases and if you would like to read any of them, let us know. We will add your name to the waiting list and get you the book as soon as we reopen.”

Access digital books, audio books, movies and music free with a free library card. Visit the Digital Services page of the library’s website to learn how. You can also sign up for a library card online or renew an existing card, regardless of your age.

Children from birth to age 5 can participate in the Hooked on Books program, which allows families to check out bags of 10 books. Once all 100 bags are in your collection, a child would have read 1,000 books. To get more bags or to sign up for the program, email clinton@midyork.org.

Ruth offers story time videos for kids of all ages. To get the link, sign up for the library’s weekly e-newsletter by emailing clinton@midyork.org.

Enjoy the sunshine, get outside, and take a walk with our Quarantine Walking Club. Visit the At Home With the KTL page of the library website to download this week’s walk, follow the map provided and try a path you might never have walked before. Make sure you’re safe. While you are walking, keep 6 feet of social distance between you and anyone else, and if you are on a road without sidewalks, walk against traffic as far out of the street as possible.

KTL is also creating a time capsule. Check out the Pinterest page to see what the
