Howard County residents welcome reopening of area movie theaters amid coronavirus pandemic

When Maryland entered Stage Three of its coronavirus recovery plan on Sept. 4, movie theaters in the state were allowed to open their doors for the first time since mid-March. AMC’s seven theaters in the Baltimore area, including the one in Columbia, opened Thursday with increased safety measures, required mask-wearing and limited capacity. AMC’s other locations in the area are Owings Mills, Security Square, St. Charles Towne Center, White Marsh, Lexington Park and Churchville.
