Well, that happened…. The borderlands teaser trailer has dropped and holy crap it’s beautiful. It gives off serious Guardians of the Galaxy vibes and I for one am down for it. Don’t miss this one.
Borderlands is based on the popular video game set on the abandoned fictional planet of Pandora where people search for a mysterious relic. It stars a who’s who of Hollywood and has a lot of comics in it. We are talking Kate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Hart, Ariana Greenblatt, Jack Black, Gina Gershon, Bobby Lee, and more.
Based on the game series by the same name, Borderlands tells the story of alien outlaw Lilith (Cate Blanchett), a wanted woman from the planet Pandora who returns to her home world in search of a fabled vault rumored to be filled with invaluable treasures.
Though Lilith knows her way around Pandora, she also knows that her best bet at finding the vault is to go hunting with a team. Lilith’s got little in common with mercenary Roland (Kevin Hart), mad scientist Dr. Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis), demolitionist Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), Tiny Tina’s enforcer Krieg (Florian Munteanu), or robot Claptrap (Jack Black). But they make a solid enough squad for Lilith to bring along on her quest for glory.
The trailer seems to have the same feel as the games, with visuals that seem right in line with the series’ incredibly silly tone. We cant wait to see if and how they pull this one off.
We are going to have to wait all summer though as its expected to release on August 9th, 2024. In the meantime, enjoy Claptrap’s explosive diarrhea…
