Super 8

super-8-poster3.5 out of 5 stars

If you take Goonies, Stand By Me, and ET and just kind of mash them all together you get something like Super 8. To be fair, this is a decent movie that just cannot stand up to its advanced billing, its as if Abrams cant get out of the way of his many homages to Spielberg enough to let his own talent and vision shine through. That’s my reviewers hat take, in my Daddy hat, this is a lot of fun to watch with the kids, not too scary and hits just the right tone for kiddie horror and we had a great time.
