GO 386 Powerlifting, a fiesta and three other things to do this week – Daytona Beach News

How lucky we are to live in this area! There’s always something to do and a variety of activities. This week we have powerlifting, a celebration of the coming of summer, distinguished art, a classic film and live theater. Have fun!

Powerlifting Nationals start June 14 at the Ocean Center.

USA Powerlifting Nationals

Taking place at the Ocean Center from June 14-19, the Powerlifting Nationals are open to the public, but each session is limited to 100 spectators. Daily times are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the Ocean Center is at 101 N. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach.

Along the same lines as the Powerlifting Nationals is the Bacon Beatdown, also at the Ocean Center, from June 18-20. This competition focuses on functional fitness, with more than 1,000 athletes. Spectators can also attend the Bacon Beatdown.

'All in the Timing' is being staged by City Repertory Theatre in Palm Coast starting June 17.

City Repertory Theatre’s ‘All in the Timing’

City Repertory Theatre, in Palm Coast, is staging “All in the Timing,” a compilation of six short comedy plays, at 7:30 p.m. June 17-19, at the Black Box at Flagler Auditorium, 5500 State Road 100. For example, one is about an “anxious young man at dinner trying to discover if his date is a sure thing,” and another features three monkeys furiously typing to see if one can create Hamlet.
