Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban appear to be hammering out the details of their split following the Babygirl actress’ divorce filing.

Kidman, 58, filed for divorce from Urban, 57, in Nashville on Tuesday, September 30, according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the dissolution of their marriage and listed their date of separation as the same date of the divorce filing. The Big Little Lies star requested to be named the “primary residential parent” of her and Urban’s minor children, Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14.

Along with the filing, Kidman submitted a marital dissolution agreement signed by both herself and her estranged husband on September 6 and August 29, respectively. The agreement included a parenting plan, a child support plan and a “parenting seminar order.”

Kidman and Urban waived their rights to spousal support and child support, although a clause in the divorce docs states that the country star has “prepaid all child support obligations.”

Additionally, the spouses will retain their own assets.

According to the parenting plan, Sunday and Faith will spend 306 days out of the year with Kidman and 59 days with Urban, including every other weekend. The parents agreed to make all major decisions regarding their children as a team. However, “in the unlikely event that the parties do not agree on a major decision for either minor child, [Kidman] shall have final decision-making authority,” the plan states.

Us confirmed on Monday, September 29, that Kidman and Urban had separated after 19 years of marriage.

The news came after Kidman attended this year’s Met Gala solo in May. She and Urban were last spotted together in public at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 game in Nashville on June 20. Days later, the pair celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary.

“Happy Anniversary Baby ❤️ @KeithUrban,” Kidman captioned a photo of herself and Urban on Instagram, marking the final time she posted a snap with her now-estranged husband on her main feed prior to their split.

Kidman and Urban met in 2006 at the G’Day USA Gala in Los Angeles. The Nine Perfect Strangers actress later revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2017 that she had “such a crush” on the country music star from the moment they first crossed paths, but she didn’t think her feelings were reciprocated.

“He didn’t call me for four months,” she said.

However, Urban told The Sydney Morning Herald in 2018 that he was in a bad place at the time they first met and knew it wasn’t the right time to call Kidman.

“Somebody had given me her number and I had it in my pocket for a while. I kept looking at it thinking, ‘If I call this number, she’s going to answer. I don’t know what [to] say,’” he explained. “I wasn’t in a very healthy place in my life. I’d never have thought she’d see anything in a guy like me. But at some point I plucked up the courage to call those numbers and she answered, and we started talking and we talked and talked and talked and talked and it was effortless.”

Kidman and Urban tied the knot in Australia in June 2006 and welcomed their daughters in 2008 and 2011, respectively.

In 2021, Kidman admitted that she and Urban had dealt with challenges throughout their relationship.

“We’re always working through stuff, but it’s very much love-based, so there’s an enormous amount of give and take,” she told Harper’s Bazaar at the time. “I want him to have the best life he can have, and he responds the same way. We really love parenting together.”
