Kaley Cuoco lives in an animal house — in more ways than one.

“There is absolute chaos,” the Big Bang Theory alum, 39, exclusively tells Us Weekly of having dogs, horses, cows, goats and other four-legged friends on her family’s ranch in Thousand Oaks, California. “This is a traveling circus. We wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Lifelong dog lover Cuoco’s pet care brand, Oh Norman!, recently teamed up with The Amanda Foundation in Beverly Hills to help animals find their forever homes, though the actress admittedly eyed a few for herself.

“I got here. I was like, ‘I regret this because now I want to take one home,’” she quips.

Cuoco says her fiancé, Tom Pelphrey, “knew” that would happen, adding, “He’s like, ‘OK. Send me what you’re bringing home.’”

Ahead of the foundation’s open adoption, the Flight Attendant alum and her team volunteered their time to give makeovers to the dogs in need of a family.

“We did nail clippings, and we gave them haircuts, and we actually did before-and-after pictures so they have their glow-up,” she shares. “We commissioned a survey that actually says nine out of 10 people prefer to adopt a dog that’s clean and smells good. And so we thought that was really, really interesting. We thought, ‘OK, if that gives us a little bit of a chance to get a dog adopted, we’re going to clean them up.’”

Cuoco advises pet lovers to adopt rather than shop, explaining, “Most shelters have what you want, so at least scope that out first before you think of buying a dog. The shelters are overrun. We are in a crisis.”

Since 2023, the 8 Simple Rules alum has run Oh Norman! in honor of her beloved late rescue dog, which she named the brand after.

“Honestly, I was very inspired by Baby2Baby, which Jessica Alba started years ago,” she tells Us. “I thought, ‘Oh, my God, what an incredible [organization] — her passion with children and babies and how she gave back with each purchase. And I thought I could do that with animals. I know at this point they’ve given back multimillions. My dream is to be sitting here a few years from now telling you that we’ve done the same.”

Cuoco notes that her company’s products, which range from supplements to toys, are all “veterinary-approved” and made naturally.

“And the stuff is cute as f***,” she playfully boasts.

In addition to her many animals, the Based on a True Story alum and Pelphrey, 43, share a 2-year-old daughter, Matilda, whom Cuoco calls “extremely empathetic.”

“Having your kids grow up with a dog or any animal, I think it’s such a beautiful thing,” she tells Us. “My child has been so exposed. … She doesn’t even know the difference, She only knows a life of animals around her, and she knows how to treat them. We’ve told her from a young age, ‘We’re gentle. We do this; we don’t do this.’ She’s learned so much already in just her 2 and a half years, so it’s special. I highly recommend raising your kids with animals. I think it’s very important.”

Plus, Cuoco notes that Matilda “has such a good immune system” thanks to the pets who have been “licking her face” since she was a baby.

“It’s the best,” she adds of her all-consuming life on a farm. “It brings a lot of laughs and a lot of humility and a lot of humbling moments. We take things day by day in this house. [There is a] lot of chores and a lot of dog s***.”
