Charlie Kirk’s Podcast Returns With Empty Chair in His Place Days After Death

Charlie Kirk‘s cohosts returned to their podcast days after the 31-year-old’s death.

During the Friday, September 12, episode of “The Charlie Kirk Show” podcast, which is cohosted by Jack Posobiec, James O’Keefe and Kash Patel, an empty chair was shown as a way to honor Kirk.

“Charlie would’ve wanted us to be here,” said one of the cohosts as they commemorated their late friend. “He would’ve been upset if we weren’t here. We’ve left his chair open and empty, because nobody could ever fill it.”

The episode was released two days after Kirk was killed during a Wednesday, September 10, shooting at Utah Valley University.

“It’s with a heavy heart that we, the Turning Point USA leadership team, write to notify you that early this afternoon, Charlie went to his eternal reward with Jesus Christ in Heaven,” Turning Point USA, which Kirk founded, said in a statement after news of the shooting broke.

Kirk launched “The Charlie Kirk Show” in 2019 and often made headlines for his right-wing opinions on controversial topics. As a result, the conservative activist’s death has sparked a lot of conversation on social media, with President Donald Trump among the first to react.

Trump spoke out in a statement via the White House’s X account, “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie.”

Trump continued: “The president wrote in a statement shared by the White House’s X account. “He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

Other celebrities also paid their respects with Chris Pratt writing via X, “Praying for Charlie Kirk right now, for his wife and young children, for our country. We need God’s grace. God help us.”

Candace Cameron Bure took to social media with her own message. “We love you, Charlie,” she wrote via X. “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Meanwhile, Tim Allen used his 9/11 remembrance post to honor Kirk’s family after the conservative political commentator’s death.

“On this sad and [sic] day remembering 9-11. I add a somber prayer for Charlie Kirks family,” Allen, 72, wrote via X on Thursday, September 11. “This is a very dark moment.”

After a two-day manhunt, law enforcement announced on Friday that 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, whom they suspect to be the shooter, was in police custody.

Kirk is survived by wife Erika Kirk (née Frantzve) and their two kids.
