President Donald Trump shook hands with Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton as he arrived in the U.K. for his second state visit.

Trump, 79, touched down in England on Wednesday, September 17, alongside wife Melania Trump. Hello! Magazine reported that Trump called Kate, 43, “beautiful” as they shook hands. The Prince and Princess of Wales are set to host Trump at Windsor Castle, and they took a carriage-led procession around the palace grounds.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla were also present for Trump’s arrival. Charles, 76, traveled via carriage with Trump while Camilla, 78, rode with Melania, 55.

Trump is set for a two-day state visit with the royal family. Trump will see Queen Elizabeth II’s grave at St George’s Chapel before a state dinner is hosted in his honor at Windsor on Wednesday evening. Trump will also meet with Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Thursday, September 18. This marks Trump’s second visit to the U.K. after previously traveling across the pond in 2019.

“My relationship is very good with the U.K., and Charles, as you know, who’s now king, is my friend,” Trump told reporters on Tuesday, September 16, before leaving for England. “And it’s the first time this has ever happened where somebody was honored twice, so it’s a great honor.”

King Charles III Invites Trump to U.K. for ‘Unprecedented’ State Visit

Trump’s visit with the royal family comes one week after Charles’ surprising reunion with Prince Harry on September 10.

“The meeting was sparked by a handwritten letter from Harry earlier this year to Charles expressing his desire to reconnect,” a source told Us Weekly exclusively. “They were not sure it was going to happen until just in the last week.”

The insider told Us that the reunion was “very emotional” for the two men but was also a “super positive and very relaxed meeting.”

According to the source, Harry, 41, and Charles “were catching up personally” throughout the sit-down. “There were hugs and tears at the meeting,” the insider continued.

Harry offered a brief update on his father while speaking to reporters during his U.K. trip. (Harry traveled to his home country to attend the WellChild Awards on September 8.)

“Yes, he’s great, thank you,” the Duke of Sussex said after the meeting.

Harry also told The Guardian on Sunday, September 14, that reconciling with Charles is his goal for the upcoming year.

“The focus really has to be on my dad,” he told the newspaper, noting that he wants to spend more time in the U.K. “This week has definitely brought that closer.”
