Celebrity Splits of 2025: Sophia Culpo and Michael Stevens, Lori Loughlin, More

2025 kicked off with a slew of celebrity breakups.

Two months after first sparking split rumors, Jessica Simpson announced that she and Eric Johnson had called it quits after 10 years of marriage. “Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” she told Us Weekly in a January 13 statement. “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”

Days earlier, news broke on January 8 that Jessica Alba and Cash Warren separated after 16 years of marriage. As the year went on, more couples called it quits, including Sophia Culpo and boyfriend Michael Stevens in October.

Us exclusively confirmed on October 8 that Olivia Culpo’s youngest sister, Sophia Culpo, and her boyfriend, Michael Stevens, called it quits after two years of dating.

Full House star Lori Loughlin and designer Mossimo Giannulli separated after nearly 28 years of marriage.
“They are living apart and taking a break from their marriage,” Loughlin’s rep told People on October 2. “There are no legal proceedings at this time.”

Country singer Keith Urban and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman split after 19 years of marriage, a source confirmed to Us Weekly on September 29. According to TMZ, the couple had been living apart “since the beginning of summer” with Kidman being the primary caregiver for their two kids while Urban was on tour.

The Big Brother season 23 alums Claire Rehlfuss and Derek Xiao announced their breakup on September 20.
“Nothing dramatic happened, just the realization that we’re different people who want different things,” a joint Instagram Story statement read. “We still care deeply about each other [and] are grateful for the time we shared and will remain friends. Thank you for all the love and support, it truly means so much. We hope that by sharing, we can be given the space and grace to move forward without any speculation or drama.”

After nearly three years together, Tim Burton and Monica Bellucci announced their split on September 19.
“It is with much respect and deep care for each other that Monica Bellucci and Tim Burton have decided to part ways,” they said in a statement to the AFP.

Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes
A rep for Kelsea Ballerini confirmed to Us on September 14 that the couple broke up after nearly three years of dating.
Just two days earlier, Chase Stokes shared a sweet birthday tribute for Ballerini’s 32nd birthday.
“Although you keep saying you’re not excited for 32, I’d say I’m lookin’ forward to more of this,” he wrote via Instagram on September 12. “Happy birthday, my love.”

Akon and Tomeka Thiam
The “Don’t Matter” singer’s wife, Tomeka Thiam, reportedly filed for divorce on September 11, just four days before their 29th wedding anniversary.
Tomeka requested joint legal custody of their 17-year-old child but asked for sole physical custody, according to TMZ. Akon, whose real name is Aliaune Thiam, has at least nine kids with multiple women.
The news of the couple’s split came just over a year after the rapper exclusively told Us Weekly that “trust” was the secret to their long-term relationship. Tomeka, for her part, said “loyalty and commitment” were key to staying together during the June 2024 interview.

Benson Boone and Maggie Thurmon
Us confirmed on September 11 that Benson Boone and his girlfriend, Maggie Thurmon, had broken up after nearly two years together.
A source exclusively told Us that the split occurred earlier that week. The pair subsequently unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Former Bachelor Andrew and his wife, Ivana, announced their split via Instagram on August 30.
“Those who know us well know that family has always been at the foundation of our lives and at the center of everything we do. After much reflection and many hours of counseling we have decided that we can best serve our children and honor that commitment to family by moving forward separately as co-parents,” they wrote. “While this was not an easy decision, we remain united in raising our children with love, stability, and the values we share.” 
Andrew and Ivana have three children: sons Adam Brooks (born in 2009) and Shane (born in 2014), and daughter Anja Jasmine (born in 2011).
“Though no longer a couple, we will always be a family, cheering from the actual and proverbial sidelines for our children’s  — and each other’s — happiness and success,” they continued. “Seventeen years of marriage is an achievement we deeply honor, as it brought us three extraordinary children and forged lifelong, generational bonds and friendships that will always endure.”

After rumors swirled of a split, Espinal revealed that she and Arenales were “no longer together” after winning Love Island season 7.
“After leaving the villa, it became very clear that we were on two different journeys,” Espinal said in a statement shared via her Instagram Story on August 27. “Our visions didn’t align and relationships are supposed to be a team sport. You don’t have to drink the whole sea to know it’s salty.”

Us confirmed on August 12 that Law filed for divorce from Andreen one day prior. The NCIS actress and Andreen were married for 12 years before the pair parted ways. They share one child.

Former United States President Joe Biden’s daughter filed for divorce from Krein after 13 years of marriage, a representative for Ashley confirmed to The Philadelphia Inquirer. The documents were reportedly filed in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas on August 11.

Us confirmed on August 8 that Elordi and Giannulli “recently split” after dating on and off for three years. “Things have been rocky between them all summer,” a source exclusively told Us, noting, “They both initiated the conversation and agreed it wasn’t working.”

Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty
So You Think You Can Dance host Deeley announced her separation from comedian Kielty on July 29. The couple were married for nearly 13 years.
“We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved,” the couple said in a joint statement to the BBC. “We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment.”
Deeley and Kielty tied the knot in Rome in September 2012, years after they first worked together as cohosts of U.K. reality singing competition Fame Academy. They share two sons.

The Love Island USA season 6 stars confirmed their split in July 2025 after one year of dating.

As you know, Kenny and I no longer together,” she wrote via Instagram Stories. “Please know that I have seen all the breakup theories and none have matched up to how terrible, disgusting and disappointing it truly is. Discovering that someone you loved isn’t who you thought they were and that the relationship you thought you were building hasn’t been genuine since day one has been truly devastating.”

The Outrageous actor announced on July 24 that he separated from his wife after seven years of marriage.
“Earlier this year, after thoughtful consideration and with mutual respect, Louisa and I have come to the decision to part ways,” Sasse wrote via Instagram. “This decision was not made lightly, but it comes from a place of love, care and a deep appreciation for the time we have shared together. Our children are of the highest importance and we are fully committed to coparenting them with stability and support. We very much appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy at this time.”
Sasse and Ainsworth share children Dominic and Delilah, while he also has an older son from a previous relationship.

The statement continued, “We remain amicable and will always appreciate the many wonderful memories we have shared. Your support means the World to me and I’m committed to moving forward with positivity and trust in the path ahead.”

The Today host announced on July 18 that she and Fichera called it quits after 12 years of marriage. 
“For many years I have shared my family with you all — the highs and lows. The ups and downs. And all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between,” she wrote in a statement shared via Instagram. “I am incredibly grateful for the support and love you’ve given me through it all. For that reason, I want to share with you that a few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate.”

On July 7, Phypers filed for divorce from Richards after six years of marriage.
According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Phypers cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and asked the court to award him spousal support.

Gigi Gorgeous and husband Getty filed for divorce on July 2, according to court docs obtained by People. The pair were married for nearly six years before the split.
“Gigi Gorgeous and Nats Getty confirm they have amicably decided to part ways and officially file for divorce,” the exes shared via a joint statement. “While they have decided to end their marriage, they remain friends and have the [utmost] love and respect for each other.”

The Oscar-winning actress and French film director announced their separation after 18 years together with a joint statement shared by their reps in June via the Agence France-Presse news agency.
“After 18 years together, Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet have decided to separate by mutual agreement,” the couple said in the translated statement. “This decision was made with mutual goodwill.”
The pair first started dating in 2007 and share two children, Marcel, 13, and Louise, 8, together.

Conover confirmed on June 25 that he is single, just weeks after Us Weekly reported the Southern Charm star and Buffett were not “exclusive.” Conover confessed on an episode of “The Toast” podcast that he “wasn’t ready to date” after his 2024 split from Paige DeSorbo.
Conover and Buffett were initially linked in February, after knowing each other for years prior. They dated about four months before parting ways. Conover called Buffett a “wonderful person” but noted he has “some healing to do.”

Us confirmed on June 25 that Perry and Bloom called it quits after nearly 10 years together, six years after they got engaged.
“Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,” a source close to the pair exclusively told Us. “It’s not contentious at the moment.”

News broke on June 23 that Mulroney had filed for divorce from Apollinaare after 14 years of marriage. According to court documents obtained by Us at the time, that the actor is asking for spousal support from his estranged wife.

Tammy Hembrow and Matt Zukowski 
The Australian fitness influencer, who married Zukowski in November 2024, announced their separation on June 21 after seven months of marriage.
“I don’t want to get into details, and I’m not one to try and bring anyone down. I just want to be sensitive to everyone involved,” Hembrow said. “I don’t want to talk about anyone other than myself, to be honest. Did I think this would happen? No. Did I want this? No. Obviously, when you marry someone, you do it thinking that it’s going to be forever. I blame no one but myself.”

The Melrose Place alum reportedly filed for divorce from her talent manager husband in June after 18 years of marriage. Interestingly, Thorne-Smith purportedly mentioned in her court petition that the couple split in September 2021, but she was only now pursuing a divorce.
The couple, who wed in 2007, are parents to 17-year-old son Jacob Emerson Fishman. Thorne-Smith has declined to pursue spousal support from Fishman and has requested joint legal and physical custody of their son.

The former Shahs of Sunset star filed for divorce from Mir on June 20, according to court docs obtained by TMZ. Ghalichi listed the date of separation as June 19.
Mir initially filed for divorce from Ghalichi in August 2019. Although they briefly reconciled, Ghalichi then filed for divorce the following year but later walked it back. The couple welcomed their second child in June 2022, three years before parting ways again.

Less than three months after their engagement aired in March, Ellis and Pasquarosa confirmed their split.
“This is one of the harder things I’ve had to write, but I want to share it honestly. Juliana and I have decided to end our relationship,” Grant wrote via Instagram in June. “We both gave this our best and poured a lot of love into each other, but after a lot of deep conversations, we’ve come to the understanding that we’re simply not the right fit long term.”
He continued: “There’s no negativity here. No resentment. Just two people who care about each other and want the best for one another moving forward. I’ll always be grateful for what we shared and for the growth that came with it.”

Velez Gonzalez confirmed on the June 11 episode of the “What’s the Reality?” podcast that she and Johnson separated after two years of marriage.
“I have decided [to] file for divorce against Milton. It wasn’t one thing. It was a layer of situations and things that just kept piling up,” she claimed. “When I asked him or told him, ‘Hey, I’ll let you know when the divorce papers are ready,’ his response was, ‘I’m not going to sign the papers unless there’s an NDA.’ That said enough for me to know that I needed to share my truth and my experience because I’ve been suffering in silence, [which] has been too much for me.”
Johnson, who proposed on season 5 of Love Is Blind, has not publicly addressed his estranged wife’s claims or their separation.

“I am happy that prosecutors decided not to file against James, as I never desired criminal charges,” Lewber wrote via her Instagram Story, explaining that while she and Kennedy did get into an “argument” at his home in December 2024 she was “not physically hurt.”

The Price Is Right announcer filed for divorce from Green after five years of marriage, according to court documents obtained by Us on January 21. Gray cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and listed the pair’s date of separation as August 2024.

One day after posting a cryptic Instagram Story about how “bigger and better things” were in store for her, Osaka confirmed that she and her longtime boyfriend, Cordae, had gone their separate ways. “Hi everyone, just wanted to say that Cordae and I are no longer in a relationship,” she wrote via her Instagram Story on January 6. “No bad blood at all, he’s a great person and an awesome dad.” (The exes began dating in 2019 and welcomed their daughter, Shai, in July 2023.)
She added: “Honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together ❤️.”

The social media couple called it quits seven months after their meet-cute went viral on TikTok. “Gabby and I broke up. We had a lot of different beliefs and the distance — not only physical but where we were at in our life — I think just ended up being too much,” Bergantino explained in a January 2 Instagram video. “And that’s OK, that’s OK. Breakups suck and the public eye breakup is new for me and it’s definitely something that amplifies everything.”
He went on to state that he wishes Gonzalez “nothing but the best,” adding, “I wish her happiness. I hope she finds everything that’s she looking for.”
Gonzalez shared similar remarks in a January 2 TikTok video addressing the breakup, stating, “I wish him nothing but the best. He just is not my person and I’m not his, and that’s OK. Love still exists. Love is everywhere. Everything’s gonna be OK.”

White and Dobrev called off their engagement in September, almost one year after White popped the question, Us Weekly learned. 
Us confirmed that the Olympic snowboarder and Vampire Diaries actress were dating in April 2020 as the two maintained a long-distance relationship.White proposed by concocting a ruse in October 2024 where Dobrev received a fake invitation for a CFDA Awards and Vogue dinner with Anna Wintour at the Golden Swan, which she accepted. When Dobrev realized what was really going on, she said she “just froze.”
