Justin Bieber Responds to Mom’s Prayer for Him to ‘Heal Every Wound’

Justin Bieber has responded after his mother, Pattie Mallette, publicly shared a prayer for him.

Last month, Mallette, 50, posted a message via Instagram about how she’s “cheering” for Bieber, 31, writing, “I declare freedom, strength, clarity, and healing over you Justin,”

Mallette added, “Every chain of fear, confusion, heaviness, and pain be broken in Jesus’ name. Holy Spirit, surround him with TRUTH, LIGHT, and PROTECTION. HEAL EVERY WOUND in his heart, mind and body, seen and unseen, restore what’s been stolen, and cover him in WHOLENESS.”

At the time, Mallette didn’t clarify what inspired her to share her support for her son.

“Fill him to OVERFLOWING with Your LOVE and COMFORT,” she continued. “Continue to raise him up as a voice for Your Kingdom, unshaken and on fire for You Lord. Silence every voice that doesn’t come from You, and let his life be a bold witness of Your power, love, and healing grace. Say amen if you agree.”

Weeks after Mallette’s post raised eyebrows, Bieber chimed in, replying, “Only thing I need healing from is my rolled pinky toe from playing ping pong.”

Bieber previously opened up about how his faith has helped him navigate being in the public eye.

“Jesus teaches that our effort is simply a response to being gifted life and forgiveness,” he wrote in a September Instagram post. “Jesus becomes the prize. And growth becomes something you desire because of the grace we have received.”

Bieber has used his social media platforms — and his music — to clarify recent speculation about his mental health. He didn’t hesitate to call out critics on his album Swag II, which dropped last month.

“They try to say I’m out of my mind / But now they singing every line / I got a lot of mountains to climb / Had to leave some beggars behind,” he sings on “Speed Demon.”

Justin Bieber’s Most Honest Quotes About His Mental Health Struggles

Justin credited wife Hailey Bieber for keeping him grounded, singing, “And there’s something that’s stronger than me / That’s paving me a new lane and giving me an energy / And there’s something in the way she made me certain I’m enough / Everyday she put the loving on me / And all the people that be doubting on me / They gave me witness my redemption, now they up on my seat.”

Swag II dropped three months after Justin released Swag, his seventh studio album. An insider exclusively told Us Weekly that Justin was thrilled to see a positive reaction to his new music.

“There’s a sense of relief on both sides,” the source explained in August. “Justin’s behavior has been more relaxed. He felt a lot of pressure hanging over him and has been in a better mental headspace these last few weeks. He is very happy there have been positive reviews of the album and that fans like it.”
