Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun Were ‘Surprised’ by Their Connection

Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun’s romance is heating up — and sources say the duo were taken off guard by their unexpected chemistry.

“Things are getting serious and it’s very real,” an insider tells Us Weekly exclusively of Sweeney, 28, and Braun, 44. “Neither of them expected it to turn into something serious at first and are surprised by how genuine the connection has become.”

While they’re both booked and busy, the couple have been making time for one another while they’re in the same city.

“They have been spending time together in L.A. this last month and making time in between Sydney’s busy press tour and Euphoria filming,” the insider tells Us. “Scooter is extremely supportive and that is one of the reasons why she is so drawn to him. He’s deeply interested in her career and life, and [he] often offers valuable perspective and guidance that she really appreciates.”

The actress and music exec — who first sparked romance rumors after being spotted walking around Italy together prior to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding in June — “balance each other well,” shares the insider. “Scooter’s charm and confidence have been a huge attraction for Sydney.”

The pair’s romance comes after Sweeney called off her engagement from ex Jonathan Davino in March, though the actress was spotted reuniting with her ex-fiancé in a car on Sunday, November 2. Davino, 42, started dating Sweeney in 2018, and the duo reportedly got engaged in 2022 before ending things earlier this year.

While initially a source told Us that the White Lotus alum and Braun were just “having fun,” last month another source shared that they were becoming “more serious.”

“It has been low-pressure for both of them and has been a different relationship for Sydney. Scooter has introduced her to new perspectives, especially when it comes to business,” the source said at the time.

According to the source, Sweeney “has been soaking up the knowledge” that Braun has from “so many different sectors and industries.”

“She truly admires the level of experience and insight he has. Beyond the business side, she respects his drive and ambition, which has inspired her in her own life,” the source said, noting they have “been constantly seeing each other the last two months” and that Braun “admires Sydney’s playful and easygoing nature and the way she brings a sense of fun into his often high-pressure world.”

Sweeney is in the midst of a press tour for her upcoming film Christy, which tells the story of legendary boxer Christy Martin and her husband’s attempt to murder her.

The actress made a surprise appearance at the NASCAR Championship at Phoenix Raceway on Sunday, November 2 — the same day she was spotted with Davino.
