Fetty Wap (real name Willie Maxwell II) will be released from prison sooner than expected.

The “Trap Queen” rapper’s release date has been moved up an extra month, meaning he’ll be out in time to celebrate Christmas 2026 with his family, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

Maxwell, 34, was initially expected to be released from prison on March 13, 2027. In September, it was revealed that his release date was moved up by two months, to January 8, 2027.

However, Us confirmed on Friday, November 14, that Maxwell’s date has been bumped up yet again, this time to December 8, 2026, shedding a whole month off his sentence.

Maxwell will be released just in time for the holidays with his loved ones and be a free man ringing in the new year.

Online records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons reveal that he’s currently locked up at FCI Sandstone, a low-security facility located in Minnesota.

The reason behind his adjusted date remains unclear.

Maxwell was originally arrested in October 2021 on federal drug trafficking charges.

The New Jersey native and the five others were accused of transporting, distributing and selling “more than 100 kilograms of deadly and addictive drugs, including heroin and fentanyl, on Long Island, [New York],” per the indictment.

Maxwell pleaded not guilty and was released on $500,000 bond. He was re-arrested in August 2022 after he violated the conditions of his release while awaiting trial.

The rapper’s release order stated that he “must not possess a firearm, destructive device, or other weapon.” Another said that he “must not violate any federal, state or local law.”

However, months later, Maxwell was accused of holding a gun and threatening to kill an unnamed man during a FaceTime Call, according to an affidavit, per CNN.

Following his re-arrest, he pleaded guilty of conspiracy to distribute and possess cocaine.

In May 2023, the “My Way” artist was sentenced to six years in prison for his role in the drug trafficking scheme.

Prosecutors had asked for a longer sentence, claiming Maxwell used his fame to “glamorize the drug trade.” They also called out his music, claiming he repeatedly sang about cooking crack cocaine and selling drugs.

Maxwell apologized to his loved ones for his actions during his sentencing.

“I hurt my community, people who look up to me, my family and myself,” he said in the courtroom. “I am truly sorry for any pain I caused.”

The judge scolded Maxwell while announcing his prison sentence.

“Despite your background and all you overcame, you threw it all away,” Judge Joanna Seybert told the Grammy-nominated star.

Maxwell was also ordered to five years of post-release supervision once he’s out of prison.

The “679” rapper will have plenty to celebrate when he’s released.

Maxwell is a father to at least six children, announcing the heartbreaking news in August 2021 that his daughter, Lauren, whom he shared with Turquoise Miami, had tragically died at age 4.

“This is my amazing, beautiful, funny, vibrant, loving, talented, smart and hardheaded princess mermaid Aquarius,” the model wrote an Instagram video, showing their late toddler playing in a pool. “If you see this post scrolling by with her comment or just say to yourself ‘I love you LAUREN’ because they say that souls can feel your love. #rip.”

Maxwell also posted a tribute, writing, “Hey mini me (My Twin). I love you to the moon and back forever and ever best friend 🦋🕊 🐻.”
