BiP’s Krystal Nielson and Husband Miles Bowles’ Relationship Timeline

Krystal Nielson and husband Miles Bowles‘ love story has seen them through some difficult times, including scary labor and delivery complications.

The Bachelor in Paradise alum was set up with the photographer in May 2020, three months after she announced her split from husband Chris Randone.

Nielson explained on a November 2020 episode of the “Almost Famous” podcast that a pal pushed them together one year after Nielson met Bowles’ mom on a retreat. “She just kind of really encouraged it for weeks. Then when we met, I just knew why she was so certain of us being a great match for each other,” Nielson recalled.

The couple kept their relationship quiet until October 2020, when Nielson posted a photo with her new man on Instagram.

“We have been keeping our relationship private for several months so that we could really focus on building a solid foundation and getting to know each other outside of what you see in the media,” Nielson exclusively told Us Weekly two days after the hard launch.

Nielson announced she was pregnant with her and Bowles’ first child one month later. They welcomed daughter Andara in March 2021. They went on to say “I do” in August 2023, with Andara serving as the flower girl.

In May 2025, the pair announced they were expecting their second child. Six months later, Bowles announced the birth of their second baby, son Rowan, via Instagram, revealing that Nielson was “safe” after experiencing “unexpected” labor and delivery “complications.”

The Bachelor alum started dating the surfer in May 2020, one year after she was partnered with his mom at a wellness retreat. “His mom and I had gone on a retreat the previous year and were at, like, a spirituality, personal development retreat and we were accountability partners,” Nielson told Higgins and Iaconetti on a November 2020 episode of their “Almost Famous” podcast. “So I knew Katie, I loved her, I vibed so much with her and we knew each other from a mutual friend who was my high-performance coach.”

Five months into their relationship, the couple became Instagram official. “This year has been full of ups and downs. Loss, uncertainty, and constant anxiety over when ‘life’ will get back to normal,” Nielson captioned a photo of herself kissing her boyfriend in October 2020, but not revealing his name at the time. “But I realized that life isn’t meant for us to replay … but rather for us to embrace, evolve and create new experiences that will continue to shape us into who we are meant to be.”
She continued: “I’ve learned this year to lean into love … To let go over the constant anxiety over what people think of me … And to stop putting MY life, and the things that me make ME happy, on hold. I am sooooo excited for this next chapter. Thank you to everyone for your support along the way. ✨”

Nielson opened up about discovering she was pregnant in August 2020 during an appearance on the “Almost Famous” podcast that November. “It’s so funny because the week before we found out we were pregnant, we were really making some big strides for our plans together and our future and kids was something we always talked about from the very, very beginning,” she said, noting she “wanted Miles knowing where I was in my life and I was ready to start a family in the near future.”
The fitness coach said the photographer was “speechless” when they learned of the pregnancy, but overall, they are excited for the next adventure. “Ultimately we just felt really blessed that this was a gift for us to come together. It was something that we had been asking for, I had been praying about. I knew that this was my year to start a family,” she said. “And sometimes things happen a little sooner than we expect but there’s a bigger plan for us and we just leaned into our faith and trust and that was a huge thing for me to get out of this whole experience.”

The pair then set off confetti poppers, which revealed they are having a little girl. “It’s a girl. Woo! I just can’t wait to meet her,” the mom-to-be said.
