Jelly Roll has filed for divorce from Bunnie Xo after nearly a decade of marriage.
The rapper (real name Jason Bradley DeFord) quietly submitted a divorce petition to a Tennessee court on May 18, Us Weekly can confirm.
Us has reached out to representatives for both stars for comment.
Hours before news of the split made headlines, Bunnie, 46, posed in lingerie for her Instagram Story, along with the caption, “She’s getting her sparkle back.” The podcaster also posted a video of herself lip-syncing to Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me, ” a song allegedly based on a toxic relationship.
Bunnie Xo Says Jelly Roll Left Social Media Over Comments About His Weight
Jelly Roll originally met Bunnie Xo (real name Alisa DeFord) at one of his concerts in 2015 in Las Vegas. They tied the knot at Vegas’ famed Little White Wedding Chapel on August 31, 2016.
The couple have been very honest about ups and downs in their marriage over the years. Jelly Roll welcomed son Noah Buddy with ex Melisa Ann Cowell the same month he tied the knot with Bunnie. (Jelly’s older daughter, Bailee Ann, whom he shares with ex Felicia Beckwith, was born during his incarceration for a drug dealing offense in 2008.)
During an October 2025 episode of the “Human School” podcast, Jelly Roll acknowledged that he cheated on Bunnie during their marriage.
“One of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife,” Jelly Roll acknowledged. “Because it was the first time that I was like, ‘I really can’t get this right at all. I know I’m in love with this woman.’ It just really, really, really blew me back.”
He added, “I wish our story would’ve went in the way that it never had an affair. I’m proud of who we are today. I truly am.”
In February, Bunnie opened up exclusively to Us about how she and Jelly Roll rebuilt their marriage following his infidelity, explaining that it was very tough for her to move beyond his “betrayal.”
“I don’t think anybody can just snap out of it. It is a process. You’re literally grieving and you’re heartbroken but you’re still in love with this person. Even though the affair is a part of the book, it’s not our story,” she told Us at the time. “It’s literally what catapulted us into who we are today and I think that readers [of her memoir] need to definitely consume it, chew on it and think about it. But they also see what we’ve made from that entire situation. It completely changed who we are as humans and how we looked at love.”
In October 2025, Bunnie reacted to fans speculating about her marriage after she failed to join Jelly Roll at a few public appearances.
“Someone said the other day, ‘They used to always be together, and now you never see them together,’” Bunnie told listeners of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast. “I’m like, ‘Do you guys not know that for the past six months [that] I’ve been trying to make a baby?’”
She went on, “My husband has to work to f***ing bring home the bacon. Luckily, I get the luxury of working from home. He doesn’t. He has to make appearances, but I literally have been on IVF meds for f***ing six months and going through heartbreak and f***ing so much s***.”
“That’s why you haven’t seen me [because] mama’s about to pop out,” she clarified. “I gotta remind them. I might even do a sexy photoshoot and piss off all the f***ing [haters].”
Jelly Roll’s Wife Bunnie XO Marks 1 Year Since Retiring From Sex Work
Bunnie stood by her husband through his weight loss journey, as he lost more than 275 lbs. in recent years. In March, Jelly Roll poked fun at people calling Bunnie a “gold digger” during an interview with Taste of Country Nights.
“I love it when they call her a gold digger,” Jelly Roll teased. “She hates it. It just flames her up. But it just tickles me absolutely pink because when I met her I was homeless living out of a 1996 conversion van, so if anyone was digging for gold it was I, Popeye. I was couch-surfing and made it to the bedroom.”
