Four years after they secretly tied the knot, Hilary Swank announced that she and husband Philip Schneider were expecting twins.
“This is something that I’ve been wanting for a long time, and my next thing is I’m gonna be a mom,” the Oscar winner revealed during an October 2022 appearance on Good Morning America. “And not just of one, but of two. I can’t believe it. It’s so nice to be able to talk about it and share it.”
Swank and the entrepreneur have kept their romance out of the spotlight since their first meeting — a blind date arranged by Supernatural star Misha Collins and his wife, Vicki.
Though Schneider popped the question a year and a half later, the Boys Don’t Cry star didn’t share the news until after their August 2018 wedding. “We don’t know why waited that long!” she told Vogue at the time, adding that the props master proposed during a trip to Colorado. “One evening, Philip dropped to his knee in front of the waterfall and proposed — he sweetly made sure my dogs were nearby so they could bear witness!” The twosome tied the knot in a redwood preserve in Carmel, California.
In October 2026, Swank shared that she and Schneider are expecting their third child.

Around 2014
The duo were set up on a blind date by mutual friends. “It was a blind date set up by actor Misha Collins’s wife Vicki and another close friend Jean. We met at 10:00 a.m. and parted ways at 11:00 p.m.,” Swank told Vogue in August 2018. “We clearly enjoyed our time!”

A year and a half after their introduction, the social venture entrepreneur proposed during a trip to Colorado. They managed to keep their engagement a secret for two years.

Swank and Schneider changed vows in front of friends and family at a redwood preserve in California, where Mariska Hargitay served as the P.S. I Love You star’s maid of honor. After the ceremony, the newlyweds performed a Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers–style tap dance Moby’s “In My Heart” for their guests. “I doubt we completely pulled off the modern-day version of Fred and Ginger, but we had fun, and our family and friends seemed to enjoy it,” Swank told Vogue. “We prepared for it with the stellar and unparalleled Chloe Arnold and shocked ourselves and our guests by not stepping on each other’s toes!”

The Nebraska native gushed over her husband while celebrating their first wedding anniversary. “It’s been a year!! The best of my life … besides the first year … and second year together,” Swank wrote via Instagram at the time. “Happy one year wedding anniversary, to the love of my life.”

The Fatale actress shared a rare photo of Schneider on Instagram sharing pictures from a nature-filled getaway for Labor Day Weekend. “It’s been a long time since we sat down and did nothing. Guess that’s why they created #LaborDay 🙌🏽💫,” Swank wrote at the time, alongside a selfie she took with her beloved dogs and a snapshot of her husband from a hike. “Hope you all are doing something you love too? #Nature #WithMyFavoritePerson.”

Swank revealed that she and Schneider are expecting “miracle” twins. “This is something that I’ve been wanting for a long time,” she said during an appearance on GMA. “I can’t believe it.”

Swank revealed that she and Schneider are expecting their third child by sharing a video of four glow-in-the-dark stick figures dancing while one moved closer to the camera to reveal an additional stick figure in the abdomen.
“A lot of people have been asking what project I’m doing next, this one releases in December. 😉👼🏼🫶🏼,” Swank captioned her Instagram video at the time, hinting at her baby’s due date.
