Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn have followed in their Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants characters’ footsteps by creating an everlasting friendship dating back to the original 2005 movie.
As the Sisterhood films showed four besties passing a pair of seemingly magical jeans back and forth during their youth, the actresses were forming an unbreakable bond of their own.
“We don’t get to see each other a lot because everybody’s work or family and everything,” Bledel said during an April 2018 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “But when everyone’s in town, we do [get together].”
The group’s reunions include occasional New Year’s Eve hangouts and being present for big life moments. However, fans are still yearning for an onscreen comeback.
“We’re very proud to be friends and if we could do movies together for the rest of our lives, I think we would,” Tamblyn exclusively told Us Weekly in March 2018.

“Happy Sad Confused” podcast host Josh Horowitz was first to share a photo from the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants reunion in December 2023.
“I just need everyone to know I witnessed the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants women reunite in front of my eyes tonight and Blake Lively and I talked about how lazy Santa is. Now I’m getting tacos from a food truck,” he shared via X (formerly Twitter), sharing a picture of the women. “The SISTERHOOD cannot be stopped.”
Ferrera later revealed that Lively cohosted a Barbie event, which Tamblyn and Bledel attended, in honor of her character Gloria. “The Sisterhood came through all in pink to celebrate my performance in Barbie last night. I love these women with all my heart,” Ferrera captioned a video from the evening.
Lively shared a similar series of photos via Instagram that month and sang Ferrera’s praises. “I was so happy to celebrate my denim sister @americaferrera. She’s the heart and soul of @barbiethemovie because she’s the heart and soul of everything she’s a part of,” Lively captioned the snaps.
One month later, Ferrera earned her first Oscars nomination for the role. She told Variety at the time that Lively, Bledel and Tamblyn were among the first people she called with the news.
“They FaceTimed me as a group right away,” Ferrera revealed. “It was hilarious and funny and emotional and it’s wonderful to be celebrated and held up by my sisters. These women who I’ve had the honor of growing up with in this industry and being loved and cheered on and supported by them. Which we all do for each other. They’re amazing, and such a gift in my life.”

Tamblyn and Lively got together for Halloween in October 2021. During their night in, the poetry writer had fun with her pal’s PR box for the Gossip Girl alum’s new business venture.
