Tarek El Moussa and Christina Hall may not be together anymore, but they remain a team for their family.
After the pair split in December 2016 following seven years of marriage, they continued to work together on their show HGTV’s Flip or Flop. While the exes remained coworkers they began coparenting their two children: daughter Taylor Reese and son Brayden James.
“Tarek and I only live two blocks for each other, so it actually works out really well,” the Christina on the Coast star told Us Weekly exclusively in July 2019. “As you can imagine, you’ve got school and soccer and stuff, so if we leave a pair of shoes or there’s a soccer ball, it’s so easy now to just, like, run over there and pick something up. It’s just a lot more simple. The kids’ schools are close and everything is, like, a five-minute drive.”
While Hall and El Moussa did not find their happily ever after with each other, they did find their soulmates. Tarek found The One with Selling Sunset star Heather Rae El Moussa (née Young) whom he wed in November 2021.
Hall moved on with Ant Anstead. The twosome wed in 2018 and welcomed son Hudson the following year. However, Hall and Anstead split in 2020. One year later, Christina met her match with Joshua Hall. The couple tied the knot in April 2022.

In early 2013, a Flip or Flop viewer and registered nurse contacted the network about a lump they spotted in Tarek’s throat. He had previously had it examined but went in again. It was then that he learned he had stage two thyroid cancer; shortly after, he also learned he had testicular cancer. Luckily, after a six-year challenge, he beat both cancers.

On May 23, 2016, the police were called to pair’s home in response to “possibly suicidal male with a gun.” Tarek was reportedly “crying and shaking,” a witness told Us at the time. However, he later told authorities he had “no intention” of self harm.

Nearly six months after the 911 call, the couple split. “Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage. We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution,” they said in a joint statement. “There was no violence and no charges were filed. We chose to get counseling to sort out our relationship on December 12, 2016. Together, we have decided to separate while we reevaluate the future of our marriage. During this process, we are committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be. We will continue to work through this process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue our professional life together.” A month later, she filed for divorce.

On December 22, 2018, Christina married Anstead after one year of dating. The romantic ceremony later aired on her spinoff series, Christina on the Coast. The Wheelers Dealers host has two teen children with his ex-wife, Louise Anstead.

Exactly three months later, Christina announced on Instagram that she was expecting her first child with her new husband. “The kids are all so excited to meet their new sibling,” she wrote at the time. Tarek then accidentally revealed the gender of the baby, telling press in April she’s expecting a son. Christina’s rep later confirmed the news to Us. “While Christina and Ant wished they could have shared the news themselves, they are very excited to welcome a baby boy in the fall,” her publicist said at the time.

El Moussa was spotted kissing Selling Sunset star Heather on July 28, 2019, and a source confirmed to Us that he is “very into her and likes her a lot.”
“He thinks she has great, positive energy,” the insider added. He “loves the fact that she’s a realtor like him and that she’s a reality star because she understands his lifestyle.”

While on the set of Flip or Flop, the exes got into a verbal argument and Tarek reportedly called Christina a “washed-up loser.” Two months later, Tarek addressed the incident.
“As you can imagine, it can be stressful working with an ex and we did have an incident where some choice words were said on both sides and I’m sure we both wish the whole thing never happened,” he said to E!’s Daily Pop in September 2021. “The whole thing just sucked for everyone involved.”

The duo announced that Flip or Flop was coming to an end after season 10.
“Bittersweet news to announce, it’s the end of an era,” Christina wrote via Instagram at the time. “Next week’s episode of Flip or Flop will be the SERIES finale. I’m filled with gratitude to have done 10 seasons of a hit show. I remember filming the pilot and thinking, ‘wouldn’t this be crazy if is this actually made it to network tv?’ And here we are, a decade later. … It’s been a wild ride to say the least!!”
Tarek, for his part, thanked fans for “following along” for the past decade. “You guys have been with us through it all—you watched me beat cancer, you’ve watched the babies grow up into the most amazing little humans, and everything in between,” he wrote via Instagram. “But I’m not going anywhere and I can promise that you are going to love what comes next!”

Christina, Joshua, Tarek and Heather were photographed getting into a heated disagreement while at Brayden’s soccer game.
“A personal matter was discussed and has since been resolved. We are focused on coparenting as a team moving forward,” Christina’s rep told Us in a statement at the time.
The day after the game, Brayden was rushed to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy. Christina shared an update on her little one’s condition and thanked Tarek and Heather for their support.
“Stressful 24 hours but a good reminder how important teamwork/co-parenting is,” Christina shared via Instagram at time. “We are all under pressure but when it really matters we were all there for Brayden doing our part. Sometimes a scary situation can be a good wake up call. In the end all the other stuff is just ‘noise,’ what matters is the kids.”

Tarek opened up about the scary 911 incident that led to his separation from Christina in 2016. In his memoir, Flip Your Life: How to Find Opportunity in Distress — in Real Estate, Business and Life, Tarek recalled going for a walk after getting into an argument with his ex. He shared he brought his gun with him due to mountain lions and bobcats being spotted in the area.
“A police officer leaning out of the helicopter pointed a rifle at me. Dust swirled around me from the spin of the blades, and a loudspeaker crackled, ‘Get your hands in the air!’” he penned, per People. “I heard an officer shout, ‘Tarek?’ I screamed back, ‘Yes! I’m the guy from TV! What are you guys doing?’”
He continued: “For the next several hours, I sat on a cooler on my driveway, handcuffed. That was the very last time we were together as a family: with Christina walking down the driveway, crying, and me sitting there in handcuffs, asking myself, What in the world is going on?”
