For actress Bellamy Young , the perfect day is all about prioritizing mind, body and spirit.
“Being in nature feeds my soul,” the Scandal alum, 54, shares exclusively in the latest issue of Us Weekly , on newsstands now.
In addition to prioritizing getting in her steps outdoors, Young also centers herself with meditation at the end of each day.
“Meditation always helps center and ground me,” she tells Us . “I try to release any residue of the day. I want to go into my dreams clear so I can rest and get ready for whatever tomorrow brings.”

7:00 a.m.
After hitting the snooze button a few times, Young jumps into her day with “a pre-technology moment” to bring “positive energy,” she tells Us.
Donning a fluffy robe, the Other Black Girl actress enjoys “a stretch and a matcha, trying to appreciate where I am,” she says.

8:00 a.m.
Next up, Young hits the gym to get a sweat sesh in.
“Self-care is critical to being my best [and] that means getting in a good sweat!” she explains to Us. “I just started running and love it. It calms my mind and will hopefully help me safeguard my future.”

12:00 p.m.
Off to work! Young heads to set to film a commercial for Salix Pharmaceuticals. Her partnership with the brand holds personal meaning for the actress.
“Some of the projects that mean the most involve telling parts of my own story,” she tells Us. “We want to help people affected by overt hepatic encephalopathy [a disease caused by cirrhosis], like my dad.”
Young opened up to Us in October 2023 about losing her father at a young age from the disease.
“It’s an interesting blessing to meet death early because it makes you never take life for granted,” she said at the time. “I have a lot of regrets about that now that his disease process, which was something I didn’t understand, [and] I couldn’t understand.”
Young continued: “Don’t ever take anything for granted. People are fighting battles internally that you’ll just never be aware of.”

6:00 p.m.
With the help of her pup Razor, whom she adopted in 2019 and she says is “always up for an adventure,” Young gets some fresh air and works toward her step goal.
“I’m a big walker and being in nature feeds my soul,” she tells Us, noting that she aims to hit at least 10,000 steps per day.

8:00 p.m.
After a long day, Young reunites with her husband, Pedro Segundo, for some couples time in the city.
“A cozy night out on the town with him fills up my whole heart!” she tells Us.
Young married Segundo in 2020 after three years of dating. “I feel so indescribably lucky to get to share this life with you,” Young wrote to Segundo via Instagram in celebration of their anniversary in September 2023.
