In this episode Clark begins to find another power… X-Ray vision. He of course as is par for this show immediately uses it to spy on Lana in the showers.
Our freak of the week is Tina Greer who kills her mom on accident and she is a shapeshifter who robbed the bank shifted into Lex Luther.
The Lex Luthor bank robbery subplot adds an extra layer of intrigue and complexity to the episode. Tina’s ability to shapeshift into Lex puts the Luthor scion in legal jeopardy, further complicating the overall narrative.

This subplot highlights Tina’s cunning and the extent of her shapeshifting powers, as she’s able to impersonate a public figure like Lex Luthor. It also raises questions about Lex’s own involvement and potential culpability, adding to the sense of mystery and suspense.
Clark’s investigation, alongside Chloe, becomes even more critical as they work to uncover the truth and clear Lex’s name. This further develops their partnership and Chloe’s role as a key member of the team. They continue to mirror Scooby Doo from week to week.

Overall, the bank robbery subplot seamlessly integrates with the central narrative, showcasing Tina’s villainous machinations and the impact they have on the broader Smallville community. It’s an effective addition that adds depth and complexity to this episode.
Tina also impersonates Whitney and proceeds to take Lana hostage. In the graveyard of course. We get to see Clark beat on because Tina/Whitney has the necklace in his/her pocket but then takes off the jacket and Clark proceeds to whip his/her ass and save the day. This time Whitney is NOT there to take the credit.
