Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds love spending time with their friends and family when they’re not too busy with their own careers.
Their friendship with Taylor Swift has made headlines over the years. After Lively met Swift in 2015, the actress and her husband celebrated the 4th of July at Swift’s infamous party in 2016.
The pair’s friendship with Swift evolved over the years, especially when she dropped a track called “Betty” on her eighth studio album, Folklore. In the song, she references the names of Lively and Reynolds’ daughters — James, Inez and Betty. (The pair later welcomed their fourth child, Olin, in February 2023.)
In March 2021, Swift gave a shout-out to the couple during her acceptance speech at the Grammys, thanking “Betty, James and Inez” and their parents.
Swift also promoted Reynolds’ movie Deadpool and Wolverine in July, which also stars their close friend Hugh Jackman. Although she couldn’t attend the star-studded premiere in New York City, Reynolds and Lively were surrounded by their A-list friends, including Jackman and Gigi Hadid.

Taylor Swift
Lively and Swift met up in Australia in December 2015, and the twosome (plus Reynolds) have remained close ever since. Swift has even included Reynolds and Lively’s children’s names — and voices — in songs such as “Betty” and “Gorgeous.”
Lively also made her directorial debut with the singer’s “I Bet You Think About Me” music video in November 2021.
“I finally got to work with the brilliant, brave, & wickedly funny @blakelively on her directorial debut. Join us as we raise a toast, and a little hell,” Swift captioned her announcement via Instagram.
In October 2023, Swift also brought along Lively and Reynolds to the Kansas City Chiefs Game against the New York Jets amid the singer’s rumored romance with Travis Kelce.
Lively, Reynolds and their kids also attended two nights of the Eras Tour concert in Madrid.
Robyn Lively
Before Blake was born, her mom Elaine Lively welcomed daughters Lori and Robyn and son Jason with ex-husband Ronnie Lively. Although they are years apart in age, Robyn and Blake have always had a close relationship. The pair — who are also both actors — have especially bonded after they both became moms.
“There’s a significant age gap which feels almost nonexistent because she’s now a mom,” Robyn told Fox News in August 2022. “We have so many similarities. Our relationship is on a deeper level. We used to help each other with our projects and lines, things like that. Now we’re doing the mom thing together. I genuinely feel like her children are mine as if I gave birth to them, and vice versa.”
Gigi Hadid
Hadid and Lively became friends through Swift in 2015, and the pair have been spotted together at events throughout the years. The model has not been shy about showing her love for Lively, even giving her shout-outs on social media.
“Pretty sure this pic is before her (our) baby number 1 but I just love it bc I still feel like the baby of the group,” Hadid captioned a throwback picture of her and a pregnant Lively via her Instagram Story on Lively’s 36th birthday in August 2023. “Lots-o-angelbabies later, u are a magical friend and mamma — protective, warm, witty, thoughtful, talented, HOT! Ur made of all the good stuff like rainbow sprinkles and butter and bourbon whipped creme. And lobster salad. Lots of lobster salad. Thank you for your light and example sister @blakelively. Wishing you the best year yet. U know ily!”
Lively reshared the post, adding: “This was before baby #3 for me and #1 for you. Coparenting with you whether you agree to raise my children or not is one of my life’s greatest joys. Love you mama, sister, friend.”
Lively and Hadid supported Reynolds and Hugh Jackman at the New York City premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine in July 2024 by sporting looks inspired by the titular superheroes. Lively rocked a red jumpsuit reminiscent of Reynolds’ Deadpool suit, while Hadid channeled Jackman’s Wolverine in a yellow leather crop top and skirt.
Hugh Jackman
Reynolds and Jackman have not stopped trolling and messing around with each other since they met on the set of X-Men Origins: Wolverine in 2009.
“How did it start? It’s gone back so long now,” Jackman joked to the Daily Beast in April 2020 about his fake feud with Reynolds. “I used to ream him because I was very close friends with Scarlett [Johansson], and Scarlett had just married Ryan, so when he came on set I was like, ‘Hey, you better be on your best behavior here, pal, because I’m watching.’”
From there, the duo “started ribbing each other” on social media and haven’t stopped since. The two reunited onscreen as their superhero counterparts for the third installment of Reynolds’ Deadpool franchise, Deadpool & Wolverine, in July 2024.
John Krasinksi and Emily Blunt
Krasinski and Reynolds have been friends for several years, even stepping out on double dates with their respective spouses. The Office alum and Reynolds have been supportive of their projects over the years and in October 2021 revealed that they were teaming up for a fantasy-comedy movie called Imaginary Friends.
Sandra Bullock
Reynolds and Bullock met when they were very young, but became better friends on the set of The Proposal, which was released in 2009.
“Happy Birthday to the inimitable and stunning Sandra Bullock! For your birthday this year, I got us both intimacy coordinators. And an HR department. And clothing?” Reynolds captioned a July 2023 Instagram clip from the 2009 romantic comedy. In the video, the duo accidentally fall on each other while both fully naked.
Salma Hayek
Lively and Hayek met on the set of the 2012 crime drama Savages while Reynolds worked with the Frida star in 2017’s The Hitman’s Bodyguard.
Hayek cooked the couple and their daughter Inez dinner in 2017. “When your friends invite you for dinner and you end up doing all the work,” she captioned an Instagram photo of herself as she stirred a giant pot and held Inez in her other arm.
Florence Welch
The Florence and the Machine singer and Lively have been friends for over a decade with Welch even singing at Lively and Reynolds’ wedding in 2012.
Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn
After filming Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in 2005 and the sequel in 2008, Lively, Ferrera, Bledel and Tamblyn remained close friends.
“Today on International Women’s Day, I’m giving a shout out to the women I have been through hell and back with. The women I don’t get to see enough, but when I do, we pick right back up where we left off,” Tamblyn wrote via Instagram in March 2019. “The women I have held and the women who have held me, both literally and metaphorically. The women I have acted with, got in fights with, wiped up a dance floor with, cried at each other’s weddings with, kissed each other’s brand new babies with, drank a LOT of wine with, had sleepovers with, had meltdowns with and had life altering experiences with.”
Mariah Carey
Carey’s kids along with Lively and Reynolds’ children have gotten together before.
“Rocky snuck up on an unsuspecting couple wearing a Deadpool mask,” the singer — who shares twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-husband Nick Cannon — captioned a photo of herself, her twins, Lively and Reynolds in November 2019. “Will they ever recover?”
Jake Gyllenhaal
Despite being Swift’s ex-boyfriend, Reynolds and Gyllenhaal stayed friends after meeting on set of the 2017 sci-fi thriller Life.
“I think he’s easily the most interesting actor working in Hollywood today,” Reynolds explained in a March 2017 interview with Good Morning America. “Definitely one of my favorites, and then at the same time, he’s one of the kindest guys I’ve ever met. We’re hanging out all the time. We live near each other. I live up in the ‘burbs.”
Rob McElhenny
Reynolds and McElhenny bought the soccer team Wrexham A.F.C. in February 2021 and have become close.
“I consider him one of my closest friends, and I didn’t even know him three years ago,” McElhenny explained in an August 2023 interview. “[Reynolds] is a kind and generous soul, and somebody you can rely on.”
Shawn Levy
Just weeks after Swift confirmed she is the godmother to Lively and Reynolds’ kids, Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy revealed his relationship with Olin.
Levy disclosed in an August 2024 interview with Variety that he is Olin’s godfather. Olin, along with his three siblings, all had cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine.
“It just honestly was that they were available and always nearby,” Levy explained as the reason for the family cameos. “A lot of times, we would call people into our edit room and have them record something.”
“Little by little, all of the Reynoldses started being a part of the movie, including their youngest,” he continued. “As the proud godfather of Olin, that might be my favorite voice cameo.”
