Hugh Jackman Asks for Help Finding Missing Broadway Star Zelig Williams

Broadway dancer Zelig Williams has been missing for more than a week and Hugh Jackman is doing what he can to spread the word in an effort to find him.

Jackman, 55, posted a plea for help via his Instagram Story on Thursday, October 11, where he asked anyone with information on Williams’ disappearance to contact authorities.

“Zelig we love you and are praying for your safe return,” he wrote. “Please pass this message on!!!”

Jackman and Williams appeared together in Jackman’s 2019 concert tour, “The Man. The Music. The Show.” Williams, 28, is also known for his work on Broadway, appearing in jukebox musical “MJ the Musical,” based on the life of Michael Jackson, and in “Hamilton.”

Williams had been working as a dance teacher for children aged 11 to 18 in Columbia, South Carolina. He is described as a 6-foot Black male with a light complexion, short hair and brown eyes, according to a missing person poster.

Williams was last seen on Thursday, October 3, leaving his mother’s home in Columbia, South Carolina, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. His parents reported him missing the next day. Williams’ car was later found undamaged in a parking lot at the Wateree Passage at the Palmetto Trail, and his phone sent an SOS message to one of his friends in New York City.

“Around 9:50 Thursday morning, he left just normally as he would,” Williams’ aunt, Christine McLaughlin Barber, told South Carolina TV station WACH. “About 10 minutes later, we received an SOS ping from his phone from one of his friends in New York, indicating a crash.”

McLaughlin Barber has been updating well-wishers on the investigation via her Facebook account.

“Words can’t express what our family is going through right now,” she wrote. “Please continue to share his photos and videos. The more we share the more people can get the word out to other states/countries. It’s reached France so let’s keep flooding the timelines to help bring Zelig home. Please continue to pray pray pray for Zelig to come home safe. WE LOVE YOU ZELIG.”
