Rachel “Raquel” Leviss has broken her silence after her ex-fiancé, James Kennedy, was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence.
“We are aware of James Kennedy’s recent arrest for domestic violence. This news is, unfortunately, not surprising,” Leviss’ attorneys, Mark Geragos and Bryan Freedman, tell Us Weekly in a statement. “Rachel’s [revenge porn] lawsuit describes, in significant detail, Mr. Kennedy’s long history of erratic, violent behavior and substance abuse.”
In March, Leviss, 30, had sued Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval for revenge porn, eavesdropping, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress. (Leviss had an affair with Sandoval, which lead to Madix ending their nine-year relationship. Madix was later removed from the complaint.)
Kennedy, 32, had been arrested on Tuesday, December 10, after an alleged altercation with a woman at a California house. According to TMZ, local law enforcement officers were dispatched following a call about a couple’s argument. A witness reportedly saw Kennedy arguing with a woman before he appeared to allegedly grab her.

Law enforcement officials, per TMZ, did not see any visible injuries on the alleged victim. Kennedy was released several hours after posting a $20,000 bail.
Kennedy, who has not publicly addressed the incident, dated Leviss for five years. They broke up in December 2021, ending their seven-month engagement.
“We decided we have two different goals and made the decision to call off the engagement,” Leviss and Kennedy wrote in a joint Instagram statement at the time. “We love each other very much, but we aren’t in love anymore. We want nothing but the best for each other so please keep any thoughts positive. Sending Love.”
Less than three months later, Kennedy met girlfriend Ally Lewber. They now live together with his dog Hippie, whom they adopted after Leviss had the pup rehomed. (According to Leviss and her mother, the dog had behavioral issues.)
It is not yet known whether Lewber, 28, was the woman involved in the alleged altercation and, to date, she has not addressed Kennedy’s arrest. She previously denied speculation that the British DJ was abusive toward her, stating on a February episode of Scheana Shay’s “Scheananigans” podcast that she was “good.”

“There was no physical altercation,” Lewber recalled, referring to an incident after the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards. “I thought we were having fun. We were having fun. But then James and I did get into an argument, but there was no physical assault. I was not bleeding, and they didn’t have to get out of the car and separate us. So that didn’t happen. That’s all I’ll say on that.”
Teddi Mellencamp initially claimed that she shared a car with Kennedy, Lewber and Tamra Judge after the award show. The group had been traveling to an afterparty at TomTom, the bar owned by VPR costars Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz, when Mellencamp, 43, had to suddenly get out of the car following an argument between two passengers. She insinuated that Kennedy was involved.
