Amanda Bynes Explains Why She Can’t Wear Tooth Gems

Amanda Bynes has given fans a glimpse into her latest jewelry addition.

Posting via her Instagram Stories on Thursday, July 10, the She’s The Man star shared that she had bought a new grill for her teeth and explained why she opted for a grill over choosing tooth gems.

“What’s up everybody? I just wanted to make a quick post that I just bought a new grill on Ice Giants website,” Bynes, 39, said, tagging the brand in the post and urging her fans to follow them. “Their work is incredible.”

She added, “I can’t wear tooth gems because I have veneers, they don’t stick on my teeth so this is my way of having tooth gems.”

Bynes concluded in the post, “It’s pretty awesome” and gave a thumbs up to the camera.

The former child star has kept mostly out of the limelight in recent years following a spate of mental health struggles.

However, the Amanda Show alum occasionally posts to social media to share snippets of her life with her followers.

Last month, Bynes shared her plans to utilize weight loss drug Ozempic to help her shed 40 pounds.

“I’m going on Ozempic. So excited,” Bynes shared via an Instagram Story update on June 22. “I’m 173 [pounds] now, so I hope to get down to 130, which would be awesome.”

The former actress went on to explain she was embarking on a weight loss journey “so I look better in paparazzi pictures and you don’t see my double chin from strange angles.” She  promised to continue to update fans on her “Ozempic journey.”

Ozempic is a brand name for semaglutide, a GLP-1 medication developed to improve glycemic control in people with type 2 diabetes. In recent years, semaglutide has also been prescribed to help people struggling with their weight to improve their health.

Bynes previously touched on her weight loss journey via an Instagram Story post in November 2024.

“Down 6lbs! 154lbs now ,” Bynes captioned a screenshot of her day’s total step count, which also revealed that she had burned “481/320 CAL” that day and walked a distance of 6.60 miles. Bynes’ step count clocked in at 14,895, while her flight count totalled 12.

According the screenshot, Byne’s workout goals for the day were officially met thanks to her efforts, which was confirmed by the large red circle displayed at the top of the image.
