TikToker Anthony Festa thought it would be a typical day when he showed up to a Solidcore class late last month, but when the studio was empty, he took out his phone to chronicle his self-taught class — and sparked a viral series of videos.

While reflecting on the initial TikTok video — which has amassed more than 2.6 million views since its release on November 30 — Festa told exclusively to Us Weekly that he was “a bit surprised” by the story taking off.

“I didn’t think it would go as viral as it did,” he shared. “The first post originally had about 30,000 views. But then after I filmed my story time, both videos blew up.”

In the clip, Festa is seen approaching the Solidcore studio. “Am I the only one at Solidcore at 6 a.m. on Sunday? I don’t even think the teacher is here,” he said. Festa proceeded to walk into the storefront, and the studio itself, with no one present. While turning on the lights in the room, Festa joked that he would “give [himself] a private class” — and then began to do just that.

“You guys, my teacher is literally not at Solidcore. I don’t know what is going on,” Festa said in the clip, before claiming that the Solidcore coach texted him, which he ignored. “You snooze, you lose. I was here on time. I’m doing my class.”

Days after the initial clip, Festa shared a separate TikTok video (also amassing more than 2.6 million views) about the behind-the-scenes drama between him and the Solidcore instructor — who allegedly arrived halfway through the class on November 30. He was asked to remove most of the footage.

The drama continued to unfold, with one of Festa’s friends calling and warning him that the instructor and other coaches were fearful about losing their jobs — and Festa’s own membership could be at stake. Festa claimed he hung up the phone when his friend brought up the idea that he should remove the video. He then alleged that someone at the company went through his friend to try to get the video removed.

“If this girl wants to be involved in me and my friendships and reach out to my friends on behalf of her, to ask me about my TikToks and Solidcore, then she needs to quit her job as a coach and become a client because there needs to be a level of professionalism,” Festa said in the video. “This isn’t Chuck E. Cheese.”

While Festa shared in his TikTok video that the ordeal negatively impacted his relationship with his friend, he told Us that the friendship was “affected before [he] posted the video.”

Solidcore addressed the viral situation for the first time in a statement to People on Tuesday, December 9. “We have been in contact with Mr. Festa regarding the situation and his experience, and have also addressed the situation internally,” the company said. “We value Mr. Festa as a long-time [solidcore] member and remain committed to providing a welcoming environment for all our clients.” (Us Weekly also reached out to Solidcore for comment.)

Festa, for his part, told Us that it was “nice to see that Solidcore issued a statement emphasizing that they value me as a client.” He added, “I’ve been ride or die Solidcore for a long time.”

Through it all, Festa has “absolutely no regrets.” He told Us, “I live my truth.”
