The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Meghan King agreed to let her three kids live full-time with her ex-husband Jim Edmonds, following a Child Protective Services investigation, Us Weekly can exclusively report.
A source tells Us that King and Edmonds’ three kids, 8-year-old daughter Aspen and 7-year-old twins Hart and Hayes, will live with their father full-time in Tennessee.
The exes were married from 2014 until 2019. Edmonds and King moved from California to Missouri before their split, and have lived miles away from each other in Missouri until recently.
An insider tells Us that King will have the children for a few weeks every summer. The deal was reached a short time before the exes were set to go before a judge this month.
Jim Edmonds’ Wife Calls Cops After Meghan King Allegedly Enters Couple’s Home
As Us first reported, earlier this year, King temporarily lost custody of her three kids after a school official called CPS on her. Sources told Us that King was granted supervised visitation. At the time, Edmonds’ team declined to add additional comment.
The custody decision came months after King and Edmonds’ wife, Kortnie Edmonds, called police on the RHOC alum. Per a Frontenac Police Department report, on May 1, Kortnie called police claiming King entered the home she shares with Jim after the door was shut on her. She initially asked for charges to be pressed but dropped the request days later.
King came over to the home to drop off a dress for her daughter. The RHOC star said she spoke to Jim before arriving at the home. Kortnie answered the door when Meghan came. Meghan asked to talk to her daughter, per the report. Kortnie told her that her daughter was out with Jim.
Kortnie closed the door and went back into the home. She said she was on her way to her office when she heard King inside the home calling for her daughter.
RHOC’s Meghan King Tells Police Ex Jim Edmonds Is ‘Emotionally Abusive’
“Kortnie walked back to the front door and observed Meghan standing inside the house approximately 5 feet from the doorway.” Per the report, Kortnie told officers she instructed King to leave.
Kortnie claimed King walked out of the home but “wedged her foot in the door,” which prevented her from completely closing it.
“After Meghan moved her foot, Kortnie closed the door,” an officer wrote in the report after speaking to Kortnie.
Jim Edmonds Accuses Ex Meghan King of ‘Telling Tales’ With ‘Abuse’ Claims
King was not arrested or detained. During questioning, the reality star accused her ex of being “emotionally abusive” and using his name and money to “push” her around. She told officers she did nothing wrong during her encounter with Kortnie. (In response to the claims, Edmonds’ rep told Us, “As usual, Meghan is telling tales. Her and Jim barely communicate, so if someone is emotionally abusing her, it’s not Jim. Jim is an active and present father to all his children.”)
At the time, an insider told Us at the time, “[King] is over this back and forth. She thinks it’s ridiculous. It was a very simple interaction that didn’t need police. [King] is unfazed because she doesn’t want to escalate conflict. She just wants to take care of her family in peace.”
The police sent the case over to the Frontenac Municipal Prosecutor for review, but the prosecutors decided not to bring charges.
As Us first reported, Kortnie filed a restraining order against King on May 2. The case was dismissed before an order was entered due to the two reaching a deal. Per the agreement, King and Kortnie are to avoid each other when around the kids, and King cannot post about Kortnie on social media.
