Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova fell for each other hard and fast, and now they are one of the strongest — and most private — couples in Hollywood.
The King of Latin Pop and the former professional tennis player met in December 2001 on the set of his “Escape” music video, in which they had a steamy makeout scene in a car.
“I’ve never met her before, but I’m a big fan,” he said on MTV’s Making the Video at the time. “I’m sure a lot of guys want to meet her. I’m one of them. She’s beautiful, talented, great tennis player, you know, and I’m sure she’s going to be great in the video.”
The pair got together almost immediately, going public with their relationship in August 2002.
Iglesias and Kournikova became parents in December 2017, welcoming twins Nicholas and Lucy. Their third child, daughter Mary, followed two years later in January 2020. In December 2025, the couple welcomed their fourth child.

May 2007
Iglesias confused fans when he said in a May 2007 interview that he and Kournikova had secretly married and divorced. “I am single now, but that’s OK. I don’t mind being alone,” he told the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet at the time. Iglesias’ rep later clarified that it was a joke and the pair were still together.
November 2011
The athlete admitted in her November 2011 Women’s Health cover story that marriage was not “important” to her because she was “in a happy relationship” regardless. However, she told the magazine that she wanted to start a family with the entertainer. “I absolutely want to have children, whether I have my own or adopt. I love taking care of people,” she said.
March 2012
Iglesias echoed Kournikova’s sentiments on marriage in a March 2012 interview with Parade, saying, “I’ve never really thought [it] would make a difference. Maybe it’s because I come from divorced parents, but I don’t think you love someone more because of a piece of paper. Nowadays, it’s not taboo to have kids and not be married. What makes a difference is that you’re a good parent, period.”
April 2014
The Grammy winner shocked fans when he revealed in April 2014 that his famous father, Julio Iglesias, had yet to meet his partner. “The last 14 years, 15 years of my life have flown by. And that’s the only way I can truly explain it,” he told Billboard. “There’s no reason why — it’s not his fault, and it’s not my fault.”

May 2020
For Mother’s Day, Iglesias shared an animated GIF of a blonde mom doing bicep curls with a blonde baby. “#HappyMothersDay!” he wrote via Instagram. He didn’t tag Kournikova in the image, but the resemblance between the cartoon and his real-life partner and babies was clear.
September 2020
The pair are as private about their children as they are about their relationship, but occasionally Kournikova posts photos of the twins or the couple’s younger daughter, Mary. The former tennis player shared a picture of Mary, then 7 months, dressed in an infant-sized tennis outfit with the caption, “Wimbledon, here I come.” Iglesias then commented, “My ❤️.”
December 2020
The pair celebrated the third birthday of their twins, Nicholas and Lucy, with a characteristically low-key social media tribute. After Kournikova shared a photo of each of them via Instagram, the “Move to Miami” singer left a heart emoji on both posts.

May 2022
“Happy Birthday to the most amazing Dad!” Kournikova wrote via Instagram alongside a photo of Iglesias hanging out with his family at home. “We super love you!!!” His birthday that year happened to coincide with Mother’s Day, so he gave a shout-out to his partner via his own Instagram account as well. “Happy Mother’s Day ! To all the Mothers around the world, You rock 🤟❤️,” he wrote, sharing a video of Kournikova dancing in the backyard with the kids.
