Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara first met in 2014, but it took the couple two more years before they gave their romance a shot.
After meeting at a party in 2014, Trainor and Sabara didn’t cross paths again until a a double date with actress Chloë Grace Moretz and her then-boyfriend, Brooklyn Beckham.
Following one year of dating, Trainor and Sabara got engaged and exchanged vows in 2019. The duo welcomed their son Riley in 2021. Trainor and Sabara expanded their family with son Barry in July 2023. Three years later, the couple welcomed daughter Mikey via surrogate.

During an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, Trainor gushed about her first kiss with Sabara.
“He kissed me at the bowling alley. I told my security to step outside ’cause I didn’t want to be watched. He was the best kisser ever. I know I’m really good at kissing, but I was shocked when he was,” she shared in May 2017. “I never really felt sexy with guys before. No one expressed how they liked my body out loud in the bedroom until I met Daryl. He is obsessed with it — every inch. And that has improved my confidence more than even ‘Bass’ did. He’s a champion, so we’re in heaven.”

Amid her pregnancy, Trainor opened up about her strong connection with her husband. “He’s so good. He’s unbelievable,” she said on the Today show, noting that her “girlfriends [are] all like, ‘How the hell am I going to find a Daryl?’”

During an appearance on the “Why Won’t You Date Me?” podcast, Trainor raised eyebrows when she discussed a special feature in the couple’s home.
“We just got a new house, and we did construction,” she detailed. “Nobody knows this, but in our bathroom, there was one toilet, and a lot of time in the middle of the night when we’re with the baby, we’ve got to pee at the same time. So I was like, ‘Can we please have two toilets next to each other?’”
The “Hopeless Romance” singer added: “We got two toilets sitting next to each other, and we’ve only pooped together twice. We pee at the same time a lot.”

The Massachusetts native addressed her comments about her bathroom habits making headlines.
“I thought someone might be interested in it, I didn’t think it would go viral the way it did — to the point where it affected our relationship,” she said on an episode of the “Pretty Basic” podcast. “Daryl was like, ‘You need to stop.’ I said ‘Why? People love it!’”

During an episode of the “Workin’ On It” podcast, Trainor called having sex with Sabara a “nightmare” due to her vaginismus diagnosis. “[It’s] to the point where I’m like ‘Is it all in?’ And he’s like, ‘Just the tip,’” the singer shared. “And I’m like, ‘I can’t do anymore.’ I don’t know how to fix that.”
The Grammy winner admitted that she wished her husband was “smaller” to help with the pain.

The twosome welconed a son named Barry.
“On July 1st (our 7 year anniversary of our first date) we welcomed Barry Bruce Trainor into the world 🐻💙,” Trainor captioned an Instagram post about her second child’s arrival. “He was a big boy at 8lbs 7oz…and sideways (transverse), but we had an amazing, successful c-section, and I finally got my skin to skin time! Thank you to all of the incredible doctors and nurses who took such great care of us.”

Trainor celebrated her and Sabara’s sixth wedding anniversary in a sweet Instagram post.
“8 years of love, 6 years of magic, 4 years of making perfect, beautiful babies,” she shared alongside a carousel of photos and videos of the couple. “This life we’ve built together is truly unbelievable. And we’ve only just begun. You were made for me and I know it when I look at our boys Riley and Barry. You make me laugh harder than I’ve ever laughed. You take care of me. Meghan Trainor announced that she and Daryl Sabara had become a family of five.
“Our baby girl Mikey Moon Trainor has finally made it to the world thanks to our incredible, superwoman surrogate,” the singer wrote via Instagram. “We are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, teams who made this dream possible. We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family. We are over the moon in love with this precious girl.”
