General Hospital star Kirsten Storms‘ ex-husband, Brandon Barash, was granted a restraining order amid concerns for her mental health.
Barash, 46, recently filed for an emergency restraining order, according to TMZ. The request was approved after Barash claimed that his ex-wife is exhibiting concerning behavior and he fears for their 12-year-old daughter’s well-being.
In his paperwork, Barash — who was married to Storms, 42, from 2013 to 2016 — claimed his concerns started after they moved separately to Tennessee following their divorce. Storms’ landlord went on to sue her for eviction, and “instability with housing” went on to become a “recurring theme” for the actress.
Barash also claimed that he loaned Storms $5,000 when her car was about to be repossessed and has yet to receive repayment. In Barash’s filing, he reportedly stated that other issues cause him “great concern of [Kirsten’s] ability to adequately care for the minor child.”

Barash recalled an alleged incident in May 2025 when Storms contacted him because she was “experiencing delusions and hallucinations” and “didn’t think she should have the child for her parenting time.”
Barash’s current wife, Isabella Devoto, assisted Storms by taking her to a hospital where she was placed on a psychiatric hold. Later that same year, Storms allegedly called Barash with claims that people were breaking into her apartment, removing things and placing them into her car to “mess with her.”
Barash alleged that one of Storms’ friends confided in him that the soap star is abusing Adderall and potentially other substances. He also claimed Storms has had “repeated episodes of melting down, being triggered, hearing things/voices that weren’t there.”
Us Weekly has reached out to Storms for comment.
In his request, Barash asked that the court compel Storms to undergo a mental health evaluation. Storms is currently allowed supervised visitation with their daughter, and this week a judge is scheduled to review the status of the restraining order.
Storms, who has played Maxie on General Hospital on and off since 2005, previously announced in July 2025 that she was taking a leave of absence from the show to undergo brain surgery.
“In January [2025], I had a new scan done of my brain,” she wrote via Instagram in October 2025. “After my surgery in 2021, my amazing neurosurgeon … has been monitoring the cyst that he left on my brain, when he removed one that was causing me problems.”

Storms recalled how her doctors discovered an aneurysm on the right side of her brain.
“I had a procedure done that weekend, where the doctor [threaded] a camera from my leg up to my brain,” she explained. “Aneurysms, obviously, can be caused [by] stress. Brain cysts? I believe that is possible too.”
Storms added: “It was clear I needed [to] change some things in my life ASAP. For my personal reasons, no longer living in Los Angeles was very important to me. The biggest reason for the move was Harper, but a lot of it was for my physical and mental health, and my overall happiness.”
Storms ultimately appeared on a February episode of the long-running soap, where her character woke up from her coma. Despite being involved in a pivotal story line on the show, Storms only appeared in a handful of episodes since then, with the last one airing in March.
