Erika Kirk shared an emotional tribute to late husband Charlie Kirk on what would have been their fifth wedding anniversary.
“Even though our kids won’t see our love ‘grow old together’ from an earthly stand point; they’ll see it from a Heavenly one,” Erika, 37, wrote via X on Friday, May 8. “And I’ll tell them of our love story any moment I can.”
Erika also included a video of her favorite moments with Charlie before his tragic death in September 2025.
“Happy Anniversary to the love of my life,” she concluded.
Erika Kirk Marks 1st Valentine’s Day Without Late Husband Charlie Kirk
Erika also reposted Charlie’s message to her while celebrating their fourth anniversary last year. (The couple wed in 2021.)
“Today marks 4 years of being married to @MrsErikaKirk. Second to following Jesus, it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. She is bold, smart, loyal, and beautiful,” he wrote via X in May 2025. “Happy anniversary, Erika. I love you.”
This marks the couple’s first anniversary since Charlie was assassinated while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, last year. The Turning Point founder was 31. He is survived by Erika and their two young children.
“It’s with a heavy heart that we, the Turning Point USA leadership team, write to notify you that early this afternoon, Charlie went to his eternal reward with Jesus Christ in heaven,” a statement from Turning Point USA read at the time, confirming Charlie’s death.
A 22-year-old man was later apprehended in connection with the shooting. The suspect was charged with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, obstruction of justice and witness tampering. He has yet to enter a plea.
Erika Kirk’s Most Revealing Quotes About Life After Charlie Kirk’s Death
Amid her grief, Erika assumed the role as CEO and chairperson of her late husband’s organization. Erika also spoke out about navigating life without Charlie by her side.
“There is no linear blueprint for grief. One day you’re collapsed on the floor crying out the name Jesus in between labored breaths,” she wrote via Instagram in October 2025. “The next you’re playing with your children in the living rooms surrounded by family photos, and feeling a rush of something you can only attempt to define as divinely planted and bittersweet joy as a smile breaks through your face.”
Erika continued, “They say time heals. But love doesn’t ask to be healed. Love asks to be remembered. It’s humbling to realize that this magnitude of suffering didn’t steal my love for my husband. It amplified it. It crystallized it.”
