Joni Lamb was a wife, mother of three and the cofounder of Daystar Television Network before her death.

Joni, who died at age 65 on May 7, 2206, cofounded one of the world’s largest Christian TV networks with her late husband Marcus Lamb in 1993.

The Daystar Board of Directors broke the news of Joni’s death in a statement shortly after her death. “With heavy hearts, we share the news that Joni Lamb graduated to Heaven this morning,” the statement read. “We know that she is in the presence of Jesus, reunited with Marcus, and receiving her reward for a beautiful life lived in surrender to the Lord. Joni’s love for the Lord and for the people we serve shaped this ministry from the beginning. We grieve her loss, and we are grateful for the legacy of faith she leaves behind.”

Joni Lamb Is From South Carolina

Lamb was born in Texas but moved to Greenville, South Carolina as a child, where her family was deeply involved in the Evangelical church community. Her family was members of the Tremont Avenue Church of God.

Joni Lamb Was 65 Years Old at the Time of Her Death

Lamb died at 65 years old following a decline in her health. “With heavy hearts, we share the news that Joni Lamb graduated to Heaven this morning,” the Daystar Board of Directors said in a statement on May 7, 2026. “We know that she is in the presence of Jesus, reunited with Marcus, and receiving her reward for a beautiful life lived in surrender to the Lord.”

The statement continued, “Joni’s love for the Lord and for the people we serve shaped this ministry from the beginning. We grieve her loss, and we are grateful for the legacy of faith she leaves behind.”

The ministry confirmed that Lamb suffered a back injury that “compounded” health “challenges,” leading to “a more serious medical situation than anyone had anticipated.”

The statement also shared that Lamb’s condition worsened in recent days.

Joni Lamb Worked as a Broadcaster

Lamb worked as a Christian broadcaster, cofounder and president of the Bedford, Texas, Daystar Television Network, which became one of the world’s largest Christian TV networks. She also served as an executive producer and host of Joni Table Talk for 12 seasons.

Following her death, the Daystar Board of Directors shared, “Previously, [Lamb] worked with the board to ensure an executive leadership team was in place so that the ministry would continue uninterrupted.” The press release also noted programming will continue as scheduled, with tributes to Lamb.

Joni Lamb Was Married Twice

Joni met her late husband, Marcus Lamb, in 1980 at her church. Two years later, they tied the knot. Joni and Marcus are the parents of three kids, Jonathan, Rachel and Rebecca, who went on to welcome their own children.

In 1993, Joni and Marcus cofounded Daystar.

In 2010, Marcus publicly admitted to having an extramarital affair with a Daystar staff member. He and Joni addressed the infidelity on air and claimed former employees were threatening to expose the affair unless the couple paid $7.5 million.

Marcus died at age 64 in November 2021 after contracting COVID-19.

Following Marcus’ death, Joni started dating Dr. Doug Weiss. She and Weiss tied the knot in June 2023.

Joni Lamb Has 3 Kids and 7 Grandchildren

Joni and Marcus welcomed three children together: Jonathan, Rachel and Rebecca.

Jonathan went on to marry Suzy Katriel Lamb and welcomed daughter Arielle and son Israel.

Rachel, for her part, tied the knot with Joshua Brown and welcomed sons Judah and Noah.

Rebecca is married to Jonathan Weiss, who is not related to Doug. Together, they are the parents of sons Asher and Boaz and daughter Ellie.
