Dorit Kemsley Addresses PK’s Spending Claims, Gives Foreclosure Update

Dorit Kemsley is happy to address estranged husband PK Kemsley’s “unfortunate” claims about her spending habits.

“I can tell you that what’s been put out there is not entirely accurate,” Dorit, 49, told Us Weekly exclusively while promoting her Unburdened memoir. “However, now it’s going to be more headlines, because I have to come back with what the reality is. It’s just a snowball.”

Dorit made it clear that the continued back-and-forth with PK is “not necessary” — at least, as far as she’s concerned.

“As far as his opinions on what I spent — whether it’s $50,000, $1 million, $25 — it’s money that I’ve earned. I’m supporting our children,” she continued. “I had asked him from pretty much the get-go for us to sit down and to discuss things and work it out together. In marriage, he was taking care of the finances and the bills. He was making decisions, and there was not a lot of transparency.”

When they separated in 2024, Dorit thought they “should have those discussions,” but they never happened. (Dorit filed for divorce from PK, 58, one year after they split.)

“That led to a lot of unfortunate circumstances. I think if one person is looking to paint someone in a bad way, or create a false narrative, they’re going to do various things that they don’t work out for anyone,” she said. “I really hope that we can eventually move away from that and into better times.”

A rep for PK told Us in a statement, “PK has no comment, other than he wishes Dorit the very best with her book.”

In court documents obtained by Us last month, PK alleged that Dorit spent more than $1 million on luxury items over the past year amid rumors that their house was facing mortgage debt and foreclosure.

Dorit denied the foreclosure rumors during a March appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.

Dorit told Us that it’s been “so difficult and so unfortunate” to have these conversations play out in the public eye.

“Especially when you’re going through, already, an amicable and acrimonious divorce — on top of doing it in the public — makes it more challenging,” she continued. “We have two young children, we have to think about. There’s a lot that happens in an acrimonious divorce, unfortunately, that are noteworthy and they’re great headlines.”

Dorit told Us that she was “not aware of” the mortgage situation — initially.

“Where we are now, I mean, I’m hoping that we both have the same goal. The house should come out of foreclosure,” she continued. “If PK and I are not together, it makes sense for us to sell the home and for the kids and I to move somewhere else.”

Dorit added, “I just think that everything works out a lot smoother and a lot easier when two people can do it together.”
