Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Bring Kids to U.K. After Security Battle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning to bring their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, across the pond for the first time in years.

Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, are scheduled to travel to England for the Invictus Games in July, and BBC News reports that Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, will accompany them. (Us Weekly has reached out for comment.)

Harry and Meghan moved from the U.K. to Montecito, California, in 2020 after stepping down from their duties as senior working royals. Upon the pair’s occasional trips back to England, Archie and Lili have seldom joined them.

Harry also filed multiple court requests, asking for enhanced security for Archie and Lili whenever the family did return to the U.K. due to safety concerns. All cases have been denied.

“I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point,” Harry told the BBC in May 2025 after losing an appeal for security. “I love my country, I always have done, despite what some people in that country have done.”

According to Harry, he found it “really quite sad” that he likely wouldn’t be able to share his home country with his children.

“I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” the Duke of Sussex told the BBC, referring to his estrangement from father King Charles III and brother Prince William following his stateside move. “There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family.”

In the interim, Harry and Meghan have made a home in California.

“We were looking in this area, and this house kept popping up online in searches,” Meghan recalled in a 2022 interview with The Cut. “We didn’t have jobs, so we just were not going to come and see this house. It wasn’t possible. It’s like when I was younger and you’re window shopping. It’s like, ‘I don’t want to go and look at all the things that I can’t afford. That doesn’t feel good.’”

Despite any initial hesitations, Harry and Meghan decided to tour their dream house.

“One of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees,” the As Ever founder recalled to the outlet. “They’re connected at the bottom. He goes, ‘My love, it’s us.’  And now every day when Archie goes by us, he says, ‘Hi, Momma. Hi, Papa.’ … You walk in and [feel] joy. And exhale. And calm. It’s healing. You feel free.”
