Things got a little fishy on Tyler Hubbard’s family camping trip, requiring some quick thinking from his better half.

Tyler, 39, revealed via Instagram on Sunday, July 26, that his wife, Hayley Hubbard, had to take a break from making breakfast for their squad to remove a rogue fish hook out of his scalp — but no explanation as to how it got there was given.

“Mid cooking breakfast while camping I hear, ‘Babe, can you come here when you get a sec,’” Hayley, 39, wrote via her Instagram Story, reposting her husband’s video of the incident.

Tyler, meanwhile, joked that “breakfast had to wait” when he realized the silver fish barb on the end of his hook — which was affixed with a yellow lure and two red beads — was stuck in his head.

“Is it bleeding mom?” one of their three children asked off camera as Hayley took a look at the carnage. (The pair share daughter Olivia, 8, and sons Luca, 6, and Atlas, 5.)

The former Florida Georgia Line musician responded, “Probably not bleeding a lot but it might be a little.”

As Hayley assessed what had happened she asked Tyler, “Are there any tricks to this?” before using her hands to seemingly loosen the barb.

“Dad, just don’t think about it, mom’s just going to pull it right away,” one of the kids chimed in as Tyler tried to sit still.

Hayley hyped up her husband as she kept working, telling him, “You’re doing great. So brave.”

After Tyler confessed that it “kinda” hurt “so bad,” Hayley grabbed a set of pliers and prepared to extricate the object.

“Tell me when you’re ready! Hayley said as she grabbed the fish hook with one try and pulled it out of Tyler’s head. “Oh, we got it!”

After the successful last-minute procedure, Hayley shared a video from the entire trip with her followers via Instagram, joking about the hook-related mishap.

“We got 4 days off with @tylerhubbard in the middle of this crazy summer and decided to go camping in the airstream,” she captioned the clip, which showed the kids in the river, their dogs swimming and Tyler helping the children fish. “All the memories made were worth the shlepping and loading up and unpacking and fun that comes along with camping.

Hayley teased, “Next time we’ll try to avoid fish hooks in the head 🪝🏕️ 🎣.”

Tyler and Hayley’s camping scare came one year after they celebrated their 10-year anniversary, which Tyler exclusively told Us wouldn’t be possible without Hayley leading the ship.

“I can honestly say I wouldn’t be here without her. I’m incredibly grateful,” Tyler said about his partner in July 2025. “I have a super supportive wife and great teammate. Even before kids, she was all about supporting me, and it was just, it was special. Now we get to do it together.”

Tyler gushed over his spouse, noting that Hayley really stepped up when he started his solo venture following FGL’s 2022 hiatus.

“Parenting and homeschooling and everything that she does, keeping the train on the tracks, it’s a full-time job, and she does an incredible job with it,” he shared. “I’m more in love with her than ever.”
