A trip to happily ever after! LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian had a bumpy road to marital bliss, but following their 10-year anniversary in April 2021, the pair look more in love than ever.
After Rimes and Cibrian met on the set of Northern Lights, Us Weekly broke the news that the duo were having an affair in March 2009.
The “What I Cannot Change” singer was married to Dean Sheremet at the time. The Country Comfort star, for his part, was married to Brandi Glanville. Rimes split with Sheremet shortly after and the Take Two actor filed for divorce from Glanville in August 2009.
Rimes and Cibrian got married less than two years later in April 2011. The twosome were involved in a feud with Glanville, who later joined the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, over the years, until they publicly discussed their issues in April 2018. Since then, the trio has worked on coparenting Cibrian and Glanville’s sons, Mason and Jake, together.
Meanwhile, Rimes and Cibrian have continued to share glimpses at their marriage on social media.
“Happy Anniversary, my LovE! I am so blessed to be able to share this life with you and the boys. Thank you for being the safe place to finally rest my heart. Without you, my journey of expansion and self discovery, my homecoming back to my own wholeness may have never happened,” Rimes captioned her letter to her husband via Instagram on their tenth anniversary in April 2021.
She added: “Thank you for holding a space for ALL of me to be expressed and seen, even if I, myself am still sometimes waking up to all of who you know me to be. You are the biggest cheerleader in my life, my greatest admirer and I yours. Thank you for loving me! I look forward to our continued journey, one of adventure, growth and lots and lots of joy! I LovE you!
The actor has also previously spoken about the love he has for his wife during an interview with Us.
“One of my favorite things to do is watch my wife perform live. I don’t really have a favorite song. I love all the songs she sings. She could sing the phone book and I’d love it,” the actor said in July 2018.
The one thing the duo don’t see in their future though is another attempt at a reality TV show. Rimes and Cibrian had a short-lived show called LeAnn & Eddie that aired for one season on VH1 in 2014.
“I don’t think so,” Cibrian said on the “Watch With Us” podcast in March 2021. “I mean, back when we decided to do something like that, you know, we wanted to do something a little tongue-in-cheek — kind of poke fun at some things. That was fine for that time, but I don’t see it happening again with us. Although, in other genres, maybe.”
Cibrian added, “Maybe there’s, like, something for HGTV or something in those lines, you know? Maybe go helping other people do certain things or stuff like that. Maybe come up with some ideas and produce some stuff.”

Us broke the news that Rimes and Cibrian were having an affair after meeting on the set of their 2009 Lifetime movie, Northern Lights. The pair were filmed getting affectionate over dinner at a Laguna Beach, California eatery.
August 2009
Attending a Los Angeles Kings of Leon concert, the duo made their very first public appearance together since the scandal erupted five months earlier. That same month, Cibrian filed for divorce from RHOBH’s Glanville — his wife of eight years and mother to his two sons.

The lovers attended GBK’s BCS National Championship Gift Lounge in Pasadena. Rimes and estranged husband Sheremet reached a divorce settlement in late December 2009.

Cibrian, for his part, added: “Sometimes moments happen and you can’t recreate them ever again. This was one of the times where everything kind of came together beautifully. It told the story that I thought we should tell for this song visually. It’s beautiful, it’s raw, it’s everything.”
The singer praised Cibrian for supporting her throughout the experience. “Emotionally, I was able to go to the place that you see in the video because it was [with] him,” she continued. “He basically just took an iPhone and stayed out of my way. That’s what it was. He just kind of worked around me. I felt like I was almost out by myself in the middle of this desert. He knows me so well that he kind of can follow what’s happening on my inner world to be able to capture it.”

Rimes opened up about the public backlash to her affair with Cibrian in an interview with Flow Space.
“I realized very quickly that there are a lot of women who’ve been hurt,” she said. “Like, I’ve been on both sides of that coin — I’ve been cheated on, too, so I know that feeling. But so many women don’t know what to do with that anger … I was a target that was just easily projected upon. And once I realized that, things got a lot easier.”
Instead of taking it personally, Rimes said she came to the realization that “this is not all my pain to carry. I know what I’m responsible for in the situation and making amends for that. But you know, the world’s pain is not mine to carry, and I think that really got thrown at me for a long time.”
Meanwhile, Cibrian joked to the outlet that the secret to their 14-year marriage is: “Because we are in bed by 7:30!”
