Two months after first sparking split rumors, Jessica Simpson announced that she and Eric Johnson had called it quits after 10 years of marriage. “Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” she told Us Weekly in a January 13 statement. “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”
As the year went on, more couples called it quits, including Next Gen NYC star Ariana Biermann and boyfriend Hudson McLeroy as well as Benito Skinner and boyfriend Terrence O’Connor in October.
In November, The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker split after 11 years of marriage. Us confirmed that same month that Bachelor in Paradise’s Dale Moss and Kat Izzo had broken up. One month later, Us reported that Alix Earle and NFL star Braxton Berrios went their separate ways.

Us Weekly confirmed on December 2 that Weezer bassist Scott Shriner’s wife, Jillian Lauren Shriner, filed for divorce from husband of 20 years.
The news came eight months after Jillian was arrested for attempted murder after a police shootout in Los Angeles. Jillian had been married to Scott for 20 years and the pair share two children.

The “Don’t Matter” singer’s wife, Tomeka Thiam, reportedly filed for divorce on September 11, just four days before their 29th wedding anniversary.
Tomeka requested joint legal custody of their 17-year-old child but asked for sole physical custody, according to TMZ. Akon, whose real name is Aliaune Thiam, has at least nine kids with multiple women.
The news of the couple’s split came just over a year after the rapper exclusively told Us Weekly that “trust” was the secret to their long-term relationship. Tomeka, for her part, said “loyalty and commitment” were key to staying together during the June 2024 interview.

According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Phypers cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and asked the court to award him spousal support.

Gigi Gorgeous and husband Nats Getty filed for divorce on July 2, according to court docs obtained by People. The pair were married for nearly six years before the split.
“Gigi Gorgeous and Nats Getty confirm they have amicably decided to part ways and officially file for divorce,” the exes shared via a joint statement. “While they have decided to end their marriage, they remain friends and have the [utmost] love and respect for each other.”
Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet
Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard and French film director Guillaume Canet announced their separation after 18 years together with a joint statement shared by their reps in June via the Agence France-Presse news agency.
“After 18 years together, Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet have decided to separate by mutual agreement,” the couple said in the translated statement. “This decision was made with mutual goodwill.”
The pair first started dating in 2007 and share two children, Marcel, 13, and Louise, 8, together.

Former Shahs of Sunset star Lilly Ghalichi filed for divorce from Dara Mir on June 20, according to court docs obtained by TMZ. Ghalichi listed the date of separation as June 19.
Mir initially filed for divorce from Ghalichi in August 2019. Although they briefly reconciled, Ghalichi then filed for divorce the following year but later walked it back. The couple welcomed their second child in June 2022, three years before parting ways again.
Grant Ellis and Juliana Pasquarosa
Less than three months after their engagement aired in March, Grant Ellis and Juliana Pasquarosa confirmed their split.
“This is one of the harder things I’ve had to write, but I want to share it honestly. Juliana and I have decided to end our relationship,” Grant wrote via Instagram in June. “We both gave this our best and poured a lot of love into each other, but after a lot of deep conversations, we’ve come to the understanding that we’re simply not the right fit long term.”

“I am happy that prosecutors decided not to file against James, as I never desired criminal charges,” Lewber wrote via her Instagram Story, explaining that while she and Kennedy did get into an “argument” at his home in December 2024 she was “not physically hurt.”

The Price Is Right announcer George Gray filed for divorce from Brittney Green after five years of marriage, according to court documents obtained by Us on January 21. Gray cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and listed the pair’s date of separation as August 2024.

One day after posting a cryptic Instagram Story about how “bigger and better things” were in store for her, Naomi Osaka confirmed that she and her longtime boyfriend, Cordae, had gone their separate ways. “Hi everyone, just wanted to say that Cordae and I are no longer in a relationship,” she wrote via her Instagram Story on January 6. “No bad blood at all, he’s a great person and an awesome dad.” (The exes began dating in 2019 and welcomed their daughter, Shai, in July 2023.)

Social media couple Tyler Bergantino and Gabby Gonzalez called it quits seven months after their meet-cute went viral on TikTok. “Gabby and I broke up. We had a lot of different beliefs and the distance — not only physical but where we were at in our life — I think just ended up being too much,” Bergantino explained in a January 2 Instagram video. “And that’s OK, that’s OK. Breakups suck and the public eye breakup is new for me and it’s definitely something that amplifies everything.”
He went on to state that he wishes Gonzalez “nothing but the best,” adding, “I wish her happiness. I hope she finds everything that’s she looking for.”
Gonzalez shared similar remarks in a January 2 TikTok video addressing the breakup, stating, “I wish him nothing but the best. He just is not my person and I’m not his, and that’s OK. Love still exists. Love is everywhere. Everything’s gonna be OK.”

Shaun White and Nina Dobrev called off their engagement in September, almost one year after White popped the question, Us Weekly learned.
Us confirmed that the Olympic snowboarder and Vampire Diaries actress were dating in April 2020 as the two maintained a long-distance relationship.White proposed by concocting a ruse in October 2024 where Dobrev received a fake invitation for a CFDA Awards and Vogue dinner with Anna Wintour at the Golden Swan, which she accepted. When Dobrev realized what was really going on, she said she “just froze.”
